Crocker outboxed and bashed up but now mandatory for the IBF title. Crazy sport at times.

Yeah although the vibe doesn’t suggest a title shot is in Crocker’s immediate future.

Like Bellew said, where was the ref to separate them on the bell? Shite referring. Donovan is a good operator.

Not a fan of that ending at all. Crocker was out-thought and out-fought.
The thing is, you’re not allowed to break the rules.

If you’re cheating, at least be good at it. He was absolutely bang on top the whole time and ignored every warning. You have to make adjustments, if you ignore the ref you’ll pay.

He wouldn't have been so bashed up without all the fouling though :maybe:

i think that Andy Lee should have done better. Donovan already had 2 points taken off and was probably going to get disqualified in the next round. There was absolutely no reason to be rubbing heads all night long. Ridiculous. Poor corner work.

Donovan a different class, brilliant boxing but his ring intelligence doesnt include working to the rules. He had to be thrown out, but think he'll end up having a better career than the man who just beat him.

Crocker wasn’t warned for his use of the head by the ref. I think the ref was on Donovan’s back, I don’t think he was fair.

The ref was terrible, shouldn’t he be separating the fighters on the bell particularly when Crocker was under pressure? He was nowhere near them on the bell. A late punch but look how Crocker slung himself to the floor. Never worthy of a disqualification for me. I think Crocker was also playing to the ref and being over dramatic multiple times. It’s a fight.

We obviously view things differently.

Really weird for that to come from Andy Lee. You just wouldn’t think he’d be at it like that. Maybe they’ve been drilling that style for months and Paddy just couldn’t snap out of it. Maybe he said “blank him, it’s only Marcus McDonald” or something in the corner.

Really odd and unique fight ending. Can’t remember something like that ever

Donovan should have been smarter after the second deduction. Difficult though when the other fighter has the guard up and head down and just walking into you with the head all night.

Crocker second best all night. I thought the ref was poor and feel for Paddy but sometimes you get the eggs and sometimes you get the shells…

Most probably but the money is with Crocker particularly with that sell-out Belfast crowd.

There was a few times early on when they were both warned simultaneously, wasn’t there?

He should’ve been much closer and quicker on the bell for sure mate I agree with that.

I think Hearn will have Croc Ennis next, let him get demolished, then put the Paddy rematch on a PPV called “Bad Blood” or something similarly tedious

Away fighters get disqualified easier than home fighters

Remember the recent Adam Asim fight

Whether you agree or not with the heat he was getting from the ref, he had warning after warning.
I've never seen a fight that McDonald refs where he doesn't give someone heat

It's always the away fighter, got plenty of form
