The ridiculously over the top praise heaped upon Jonas in certain quarters - Sky, Shalom, the woke media - is nauseating. I don’t follow women’s boxing closely enough to know if she is any good but I suspect that she’s just been very carefully managed and won “world titles” against hopelessly overmatched / part time / at the wrong weight opponents.

Her dull comments delivered in a whiny scouse accent when on co comms do little to endear her to me either. Still what does she care, she’s laughing all the way to the bank earning ten times the amount that male counterparts with ten times her talent and work ethic make.

All that being said I hope she wins this purely to give Joe Gallagher a happy night.

That clip of Jonas telling Price she beat her in the ams when it was Becky Price was hilarious, you'd have thought considering this fights been made for what seems about 18 months she'd have known that by now or surely Joe G would've told her, how the hell are us blokes meant to know female boxing when the lassies don't know? Must mean that when Price won Olympic Gold Jonas was chuffed for herself

Watched a couple (unfortunately) Jonas's fights and mind numbing does not even come close. She was rubbish, her opponents were even worse and the fights, abysmal.

At least, from the one fight I have seen of Price, is that she can at least box a bit and a lot better than Jonas, not to mention is also a lot, lot faster. No, won't bother watching as I really will fall a kip.

She beats Jonas, pretty easily, imo.

Oh dear. The one thing I would say in Tash's defence is that she can't not have been distracted and shook to the boots by Joe's situation. I don't care how professional you are, such a terrible diagnosis is going to mash your head when you are close to someone.

It will be pushed across various Sky free channels to get the numbers up, but kind of a pointless exercise. Sky will have some numbers to spin externally but at same time they'll know themselves it was all artificially padded.

I remember that womens card during covid, which had Katie Taylor headline was available on sky Sports youtube.
They make the womens boxing easily accessible and then hype the viewing figures.

Jonas v Price - big-fight predictions

WBC lightweight champion Caroline Dubois: "It's a tough fight. I've counted out Jonas probably three times now and every time she's come and proven me wrong. She's made me eat my words every time so I am not going to bet against her now. She's a tough woman and she's got the skills. I don't know who is going to win the fight. I think the smart, soulless thinker will say Price has it in the bag but I don't know. It's a 50/50 fight."

Heavyweight Delicious Orie: "I really like both of them. I know Price quite well, I've been in the amateur programme with her. I think Price has what it takes and I think age, mileage and hunger plays a factor. I've heard Jonas can really punch and Price hasn't really faced this kind of level in the professional ranks. If I had to really put my money on it then I would say Price just edges it."

WBO welterweight champion Mikaela Mayer: "I am definitely tuning in on Friday. This is going to be very competitive, high-action fight. I give Price the advantage when it comes to movement and speed. My gut says Price wins by close decision, but it really depends on who has the better strategy. Can't help but root for Jonas, though, as I have said previously I want my revenge in a rematch."

Retired world champion & boxing analyst Barry Jones: "I think Price on points. If it was three-minute rounds I'd say she stops her. She will win it wide, not necessarily comfortable though."

Featherweight Raven Chapman, who fights Karris Artingstall on the undercard: "I'm slightly edging to Jonas. I just think that the experience she has, having been there with good opponents and having been there and done it all, might just edge it for her."

Heavyweight Fabio Wardley: "It's a fantastic card and shows how far women's boxing has come and how many stars are being built. I see a changing of a guard, which is almost how the fight has been set up and designed to be. I can see a Price win and then become the next big name in women's boxing. The likes of Jonas and Katie Taylor are similar to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, they are on the backend and have had their big moments and are finishing up."

Former world champion Ricky Hatton: "It's a 50/50 fight. Both have a gameplan and it will go down to who can get off to the best start and execute it. I really think it's such a close fight. We know through history that youth can beat experience and experience can beat youth. I'm sitting on the fence."

Watson's opponent, Jasmina Zapotoczna: "I predict Jonas will win on points. People are underestimating her because of her age but she is so experienced, a southpaw, tricky in the ring and very focused."

Former world champion Hannah Rankin: "I'm going for Price on points. She is the younger, fresher fighter and I think her speed will cause Jonas problems. I do think Jonas is a strong, tough fighter and I cannot see her getting stopped."
