Women 'chucking mud at windows' after Oldham window cleaner goes viral over selfie
"Does he cover all areas?... Asking for a friend"
Women said they were 'chucking mud at their windows' after a 'sexy' window cleaner went viral after sharing a selfie on social media.
Ex-boxer Mark Heffron, from Oldham, who has started up his own window cleaning business after retiring from boxing, has since been inundated with requests for his services after sharing the picture of himself in the sun.
The selfie, posted to his new social media page to promote business Heffron Multiclean, attracted thousands of 'thirsty' comments and shares, with some hopeful customers joking they would even 'chuck mud at their windows' just to score a visit from the 33-year-old.
The seemingly innocent post, captioned 'perfect weather for cleaning windows' followed by a winky-face emoji, showed smiling Mark in a tight-fitted branded t-shirt and joggers and was quickly inundated with the comments last month.
Speaking to the M.E.N, the father-of-two, said: "Nothing like this has ever happened before. Even when I was boxing and in big fights. I haven't been able to read all the responses and its still getting comments now.
"At first I thought it was crazy. But I haven't been able to keep up with them because I am up at 5am, train until 7.30, then get ready for work until 5 and then get home and go to the gym again, so I have my hands full every day.
"It's been really funny in a way. Rebecca [fiancée] was getting a bit annoyed at them at first but now she finds it funny. Everyone is joking about it. A friend has actually just texted me now to ask if it's Mark the sexy window cleaner."
Since being posted in February, the selfie, showing Mark carrying a jet powered broom and water tank, has attracted more than 1,600 comments and had hundreds of shares.
"Chucking mud at windows," read one comment as another joked: "Does he cover all areas [laughing emoji] asking for a friend."
Another person wrote: "How much for full house? You can do inside as well if you like, have a brew make yourself at home" as a fourth posted: "BRB just sacking my window cleaner."
Another said under the snap: "I don't know what he's cleaning but mine's very very dirty."
Despite the stream of keen comments, a number of others requested that women dial down the flirting. One person said: "If old men were commenting on a young girl’s picture it would be a different story" as another posted: "Look, I get the banter. But if this was a photo of a woman and it was men making these type of comments….. come on ladies let’s wheel it in a bit. It’s a bit embarrassing."
Mark, who hung up his boxing gloves last year, decided to set up his new business, covering Greater Manchester, after first working as a window cleaner as a teenager. Despite the unwanted attention, he said it's 'massively helped business' and boosted his profile.
"I boxed as an amateur as a kid and turned pro when I was 18," he said. "I was still young, fighting and partying. I kept doing it and ended up falling into partying all the time.
"I stopped boxing and a good friend of mine who has a window cleaning business took me in. I had no money and wanted to get back on my feet so I went to work for him for a bit to get some money behind me."
Mark said that swapping his boxing career to window cleaning has allowed him to be more sociable, adding: "I've been really enjoying it. I am seeing loads of new faces and meeting new people every day. With boxing, I have basically been locked away since then going to and from training."

He had some decent fights which I assumed got him decent paydays."I stopped boxing and a good friend of mine who has a window cleaning business took me in. I had no money and wanted to get back on my feet so I went to work for him for a bit to get some money behind me."
I didn’t even know he retired. Local lad too.
Can we say he wasn’t even British level?
