Joyce is going to be shipping right hands here. Hrgovic usually has poor accuracy on his right hand but he should have no problem finding Joe. I don't like the fight for Joe because of the amount of volume Hrgovic throws. Joe will be shipping a lot of shots here. Maybe he can get to Hrgovic, who looked to have stamina issues in the Zhang and Dubois fights and is coming off a bad loss. Hrgovic looked disinterested at times in that Dubois fight and really showed poor stamina in that one. He got exposed but he has a sitting duck in front of him. I thought Joe would be able to get to Whyte, who I never rated and I think he can also get to Hrgovic but Hrgovic has good boxing skills and I give him the edge 65:35.

Abit of a sad state of affairs in the heavyweight division is when are all forming our opinion on who is going to win on who is the least shot.

Unless Joyce's chin is shot to bits, I think he survives and stops him.

Hrg has dreadful stamina.

Dillian Whyte shows off gruesome injury as he delivers first update after withdrawing from Joe Joyce fight

Dillian Whyte has opened up on his nasty finger injury in a first update since pulling out of the Joe Joyce fight.

The British heavyweight was due to return to action on April 6 in a showdown with Joe Joyce in Manchester.

But as first reported by talkSPORT.com, Whyte was forced to withdraw after suffering an injury to his finger.

A late replacement is being sought for Joyce, but it was a frustrating blow for the 'Body Snatcher' who has fought just twice since 2022.

Now in an interview on talkSPORT Breakfast, Whyte showed a picture of his finger injury and gave a full update on when he will return and the treatment he is receiving.

He said: "I was training as usual and there was a guy next to me in the gym and he dropped his weights and it rolled down.

"As I put my weight down, I ended up catching his finger between his dumbell and my dumbell.

"I still wanted to fight so I didn't tell my team, I had a few days off with a chest infection.

"But it cut right to the bone although I just thought I could get stitches and put it back in a glove again.

"It's cut down the first joint so it's hard for me to bend it and I can't clench my first properly."

Whyte is now hoping to make a full recovery in the coming weeks and will look to reschedule a bout.

He revealed: "I'm seeing the specialist later this week just to see.

"I'm getting some feeling back, but I have been getting numbness in my finger.

"But my movement is coming back, it is cut to the bone so it could be nerve damage but we will see."

Whyte recently fought Ebenezer Tetteh in a comeback fight in Gibraltar in December, stopping his rival despite a brutal war of attrition.

He didn't look at the peak of his powers, but the former world title challenger insisted he was leaving no stone unturned this time out for the huge fight.

He added: "My last fight, I wasn't in my best condition but this was a big fight.

"I'd turned the revs up, I was dieting and training properly. A lot of people wrote me off and thought I'd be the one who fought Ebenezer Tetteh.

You fight with your knuckles not your fingers, tape them up, get a pain killing injection, Whyte isn't getting any younger

Joyce vs Filip Hrgovic is probably a much more dangerous fight for Joe, but a bigger win for him if he pulls it off. Hrgovic is in the sh*thouse where Joyce currently finds himself if he loses here.

Yep. He could live to regret this. Might have been his last chance. The only training he couldn't do is weights and he over-does them already. Stitched up it will look like a scratch.

Sod it. I wasn't particularly interested in the Whyte fight, but Joyce vs Hrgovic is much more interesting proposition. I was high on both guys at one point, and while it's a shame what happened to both, that's what most fighters do: they show promise and then lose and then carry on losing. Not everyone can be the best.

Joyce's fall off has been more brutal, as he has stoppage wins over two of the consensus best guys in the division (Dubois and Parker) before being smashed beyond all apparent recovery by Zhang. Hrg has never fulfilled his potential at all. He has the razor tight victory over Joyce's kryptonite Zhang, but has looked crap ever since. It'll be intriguing at least.

Just out of interest, does anybody else think Zhang's hiding from Kabayel comparable or possibly even worse than the two he dished out to Joyce? Apart from the KD, which Kabayel didn't even take a knee to recover from, I thought personally it was a similarly one-side ass kicking.

I still think Zhang could do something after that, but has been shown his level. I'd love it if Joyce could regain some form and finish Hrg in a competitive fight. He can come back, even if it is never to the level he was once at before.

Call me cynical if you like but I can't help think the injury is complete bollocks. I have been in gyms all my life and have never seen anyone squash their finger with someone's rogue weight. He's either got a better offer or he's popped again. I can't see many of us on this site that know boxing believing this is legit.

It does look like a bit of a poor excuse to pull out however if true and it went through to the bone and he now can’t clench his fist as he claims then maybe that’s true. The cynical me thinks otherwise though lol.
