Bit of undue pressure on the board to licence him after fast car has sold all the tickets first!

a name, an Egg, and caught Cheatingsmiling assassin wrote: ↑07 Mar 2025, 02:57 Let’s have it right Eubank Jr got a start off his dads name but he has fought his way to not be living off his dad’s coattails and his name holds enough weight in boxing for him and his abilities alone. Benn on the other hand is where he is at now still off his dads name (and eggs), so it’s only fitting that Eubank jr is at the press conferences alone and Benn is there with his dad
That's his career

CHRIS EUBANK FINED £100,000 BY BBBOFC FOR CONOR BENN EGG-SLAP
Chris Eubank Jr has been fined £100,000 for slapping Conor Benn in the face with an egg at their press conference in Manchester last month, the British Boxing Board of Control has confirmed.
"Following a hearing before the Stewards of the British Boxing Board of Control, Chris Eubank Jnr. was found to be in breach of Regulation 25 (misconduct) for his conduct at the press conference in Manchester for the Chris Eubank Jr v Conor Benn contest on 26th April 2025," the Board's statement read.
"As such, the Stewards of the Board fined Chris Eubank Jr the sum of £100,000."
Eubank Jr (34-3, 25 KOs) and Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) are set to clash in a huge middleweight fight on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The event will be promoted by Ring Magazine in association with SNK Games, the creators of the video game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Their bout will come 35 years after their fathers Chris Sr and Nigel, two legends of British boxing, fought two gruelling middleweight and super-middleweight title battles in the 1990s.
Both men were originally scheduled to fight in October 2022 but Benn failed two pre-fight drug tests administered by Voluntary Anti-Doping Control (VADA) and the event was called off. Clomifene was the banned substance found in Benn's system.
But the 28-year-old's provisional suspension has since been lifted and after fighting twice in the US since then, he is now cleared to compete in the UK.
It was claimed that Benn's positive tests were as a result of an over-consumption of eggs, hence Eubank Jr's presser stunt.
After the slap, which caused an on-stage melee in which both fighters had to be separated by security, Eubank Jr further goaded his rival on social media.
"Apparently egg contamination was the reason for his two failed drugs tests. So I contaminated him with an egg," he wrote.
Benn hasn't boxed since a unanimous decision win over Peter Dobson on February 3, 2024. Eubank Jr was last in action in October, beating Kamil Szeremeta by seventh-round stoppage on the Artur Beterbiev-Dmitry Bivol I undercard.

Eubank Sr still insisting the fight won't go ahead and Harlem Eubank will fight Benn on the night.

Is this for real?
What did Haye get for levelling Chisora?
Or more recently Adeleye?

That was one expensive egg
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | PPV - 26 April 2025
Does it not seem to anybody else that the BBBofC have, even more than ever, just become empty suits there to give the promotions credibility? This 'fine' has promotion written all over it, the bill won't be picked up by Chris IMO.

£100,000 is at most a couple of thousand of seats sold. Cheap advertising.

I wonder what happens to the £100k
Assume there is some level of reporting on what happens to these fines. Fines can't be part of the budget so I imagine they are put back into grass roots boxing, rather than expensive hotels and expenses

If Chris Eubank Jr, or Billy John Saunders, come to think of it were convicted in a court of law for their petty misdemeanours, would they get a £100k fine. I hope he tells them where to stick it. Who are the Board to be acting like the world's moral Policemen.

Paul Smith tweeted as well asking where is going.
No transparency. Wouldn’t shock me if Turki’s looked after it

Spot on Ruthie, if it’s not actually written into his contract, Jr would have had a verbal agreement with Hearn / Turki for them to pay any fine resulting from the little stunt they cooked upRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025, 12:18Paul Smith tweeted as well asking where is going.
