It's Evander Holyfield vs Michael Dokes brutal slugfest all over again. Holyfield stops Ron Lyle in the tenth round.

Well if Lyle hits him as easily as Dokes did it won't last long. I suspect Holyfield would have fought cautiously against Lyle. Holyfield gets hurt early but controls most of the action before surviving some shaky moments late to win avery close decision.

If they fought 3 times, Holyfield takes 2 out of 3.

I think that Evander Holyfield's will, heart and determination and overall complete game would get the job done. No matter how Ron Lyle hits, Holyfield takes him and twice on Sunday.

A true "never say die" warrior was that Holyfield. A true all-time pound per pound great and a great heavyweight at his very best.

Yep, Holy was an ATG, but don't overlook Lyle's heart and will to win as shown against prime Foreman and Shavers. Holy could be hit and Lyle was probably a harder puncher than anyone he ever fought. And no, the Foreman Holy fought wasn't comparable to prime George.

It's better to look at these matches as who wins in a series, especially when the two fighters are well matched. I'd pick Holy to to take 2 of 3, but Lyle was a beast in his prime and was likely to catch Holy solid in at least one of the fights.
