how confident are we that these fights actually happened?

Post by margaret thatcher »

how sure are we that william bezerra's fights actually happened? 41-0 (40) , nearly half of them against supposedly undefeated opponents that themselves have no vid or picture of their fights

there is virtually no evidence of him entering the ring to box more than a couple times. in this day and age, getting that type of record and you can hardly get any video of the boxer? even his own gallery on boxrec is non fighting pics of him posing in street clothes, holding some random title that he seems to carry everywhere

his listed am record that used to be in the bio was obviously totally fake , non existant tournaments that arent documented anywhere else. some of them he supposedly won like 8-9 bouts to become champion, using knockout format that am tournaments use that would be hundreds and hundreds of fighters entered lol

he got some attention as being a phony some years ago, but his record went dormant suddenly. that said, it still stands on boxrec...

i question whether some of his opponents are real boxers too

looking through the edit history of his bio, it was even attempted at one point to claim he was a 2004 olympian

so much reeking of bs around this guy. i wonder who this 'fasan' person is who updated the page so much

i guess the people behind the bezerra 'project' had the right paper work to make these fights count and theres not much boxrec can do then, but i am strongly leaning toward him being a total fraud

Yes looks suspicious, I assume proof would have been provided but who knows how good that proof needs to be

ya my guess is that these folk had the right procedure / connections with brazilian comission to get these fights through, i notice that the guy in question later became a ref, judge, and inspector...

proof as far as showing the fights actually happened....i doubt that though. imagine youre a 41-0 (40) pro , after supposedly being 96-2 (68) as an amateur, and in this day and age there is hardly a trace of your fighting online or reports about your fights . instead, its the dude in a leather jacket getting photos with his plastic belt

Great spot Mags !

I like it that he got to 40(39) with 25 in the first two rounds and KOs 17 unbeatens without getting picked up by a promoter

He should fight Zelenoff for the Hyper-Global Galactic Boxing Union belt.

another oddity of bezerra's record - of all the refs who 'officiated' his 'bouts' , only 1 of them continued as a ref after his final bout. its like they were made up or had their name used just for the sake of putting on his record, and once he no longer "fought" there was no use for them

its the same for nearly all the judges of his "fights" too

I mean, again, this :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI8BUZ9 ... =LNKBoxing

is accepted as a legitimate pro fight and listed on Boxrec, so does it really matter whether the fights didn't happen at all, or were just "fights" like that?

For context the fight above took place at this "event".. 10 fights, 10 victories by TKO, 8 of them within a minute.
