David Benavidez versus Callum Smith next?

Post by Jimmy2025 »

Early signs this is on the cards. Benavidez is a brilliant fighter to watch, I'd prefer to see him in with Bivol but Smith will do if the trilogy is happening.

Benavidez shouldn't come to England unless he is being paid enough to be robbed by the judges.

It wouldn't sell out The Echo.

You are probably right, which is a shame. Benavidez is the best watch in boxing IMO.

Liverpool only seems to sell out for scouse derbies. I think Bellew v Clev might have done as well.

Not even Terry O’Connor could fail to acknowledge the (suspiciously) relentless work of Benavidez round after round after round

Good fight I guess, but the monster demolishes Smith similar to what the Russian did. I mean, that was a great performance from Callum against the red-hot Buatsi, and he deserves this, but I reckon the only one who handles Benvenidez in a fire fight is Beterbiev, and man would I love to see that fight - I really don’t wanna see a third Bivol fight - we know what happens there. It will be the same fight over and over again, basically. Bivol would likely handle Benvenidez too, but boxing needs the box office fire fights, and they don’t happen enough

Could be a terrific clash between Smith v Benavidez.

While I'm not attempting to pour cold water of such a high quality match-up....it seems an odd, high risk fight for either of them to take with no world title on the line.

Maybe one of the 4 belts will be stripped from Bivol :maybe:

Any how, the thought of watching Smith and Benavidez go at it full pelt definitely gets the blood pumping :bag:

Callum v Benavidez would sell out the Echo easily. Doubt it would fill Anfield but it would be a big number regardless.

I think with a stacked undercard, it could. Liam as chief support.

Make it a double header with Ball v Leo or Figueroa.

Toss in Strand v Baluta rematch, Cain against someone he can have a tear up with (Wangek?) & add Jack Turner & you can sell out the new Everton Stadium :D
