Good fight. If Willie lost he deserves another oppertunity. He really went for it.

We learn..,

GFK is still very good, but basically done @ elite level.
Tough, good boxer, speed still good, but
Couldn't put away a short-notice club-fighter who'd never been 12 and got stopped before (by an 0-2!)

I've got it 117-111 for Kambosos, one sided but entertaining fight, plenty punches landed which what you want to see, Kambosos really worked that lead left hand well, especially the counter left hooks, couldn't miss Wyllie with them, timed them to perfection, Wyllie came forward but was walking onto counters most of the time, he had pockets of success especially in the second half after the headclash cut Kambosos the forehead, he did catch Kambosos clean a few times as Kambosos lost his shape but no doubt Kambosos was the better fighter and landed the better shots and more of them

Hearn said he needed to make a statement

Did he make one?

He looked alright Kambosos, he's a one hit wonder imo, it wouldn't have surprised me if the levels between him and Wyllie weren't what the records suggested but Kambosos was a level above tbf, I wouldn't call it a statement mind, even if Kambosos scraped a split here the Hitchins fight would still be on regardless

Kambosos does have a thing for fighting technicans aye going back to Bey, Selby, Haney and Lomachenko, even Lopez and Hughes are pretty technical, id love to see Kambosos in with a brawler

Kambosos has elite speed in his left hand (only his left hand though, not his feet or right) and is a good counter puncher with the hook.

They should put parro vs an opponent and kambo vs an opponent on the Jai undercard.

If they both win that can set up kambo vs parro in October or November.

Somewhat interesting card. The opening Light Heavyweight bout was probably the best of the card I thought. Jake Wyllie almost certainly put up a better effort than Duad Yordan would have, and he showed an excellent chin, and tremendous stamina. He's definitely got the conditioning to give anyone a fight, just needs to improve his abilities, and he could potentially be a formidable fighter.

Yeah that was one of those fights where if you simply looked at the scores you wouldn't realize how good of a fight it was. Khataev won at least 8 or 9 of the rounds, but he had to work for it every step of the way, and got his eye swollen shut on the way to the win.
