Fun Fact

Hulk Hogan and Foreman had the same agent. Hogan had first dibs between the grill and a blender.

Unfortunately for Hogan, he was out picking his kids up from school. His agent left him a voicemail.

‘Hey, Hogan, I’ve got a grill, and I’ve got a blender; which one do you want to pick? I’ll call George and ask him since you’re not home…’

Hogan got the message and called his agent and asked him what was up. Only for his agent to say Foreman picked the grill. Hogan was left with the bender.

I actually met him and James Toney on the same night. Hamed McCullough. My mate went ringside after the fight to ask him how he scored it. He was super polite and genial. We saw Buffer that night too in the nightclub. He was affable but far more bombastic. His gf was hot too.
George was a proper legend,R.I.P. I could understand and still don't,why Buffer was paid more than some world champions just to say,'let's get ready to rumble' absolute joke Imo.

21 years & 10 months between George turning pro & him being involved in a World Title fight in his own country.

That has to be a record.

Over 25 years between turning pro & WINNING a World Title in his own country.

Very sad news indeed. George was a true boxing legend.
I didn't know that he had been ill for a while so it came as a complete shock to me.

Everyone who's ever laced up has dreamt of a knockout as stone cold as that. A real boxing legend among so few.

No way the Lean mean grilling machine would of been near as big with Hogan as the pitchman.
Foreman's charming chubby grandpa looks and outgoing personality was the driving force behind the grills success.

Death of a titan.

Grew up in poverty, pulled back from a life of crime and turned his life around thru boxing. Olympic gold medal after relatively few fights, won the title by destroying one of the most lethal champs ever, regained it 20 years later at 45. Could still hang at 50. Took the Greatest to stop him.

An utter freak of nature, brute strength with great accuracy despite the deceptively crude style. Charisma through the roof. One of the great American lives.
