Well that’s the great thing about Hughie…. He can fight like Rocky Marciano in one fight then show shades of Muhammad Ali in the next :D :D The full package

Hughie has had to sign to GBM which with utmost respect to Izzy is really a stepping stone for newer fighters or those just not anywhere near the belt levels to earn something .

But anyway that aside he is coming for the in his words " so called top heavyweights "

no doubt Usyk and all the main top fighters at HW are trembling

A shocking interview by Flexen today. He said Hughie drew with Parker and also asked him if his kids were keeping him busy. He doesn’t have any kids.

In that time Pavel Sour has gone from 11-3 to 19-29. Hughie has gone from 24-3 to 29-3. Lots of activity...

Maybe Hughie should consider hanging them up. Poor lad is wasting his time. Excellent boxer but very little charisma and a boring style.

If I were him I'd come out publicly and offer to fight Fabio Wardley or Moses Itauma for free (and mean it).

It's not a bad idea! The problem is that he would do it in such an uninspiring (and hard to decipher) manner that, like his punches, it would lack much of an impact.

He's a harder sell than a Lost Prophets box set. You could probably fit his 2025 fan base onto a National Express, beating him doesn't carry a great deal of kudos and you most likely won't look very good in doing so.

He's still young, and he is skilled enough that if all his health issues have been addressed, he could actually do reasonably well in this division as all the old guard retire.
When Joshua, Uysk, Fury, Ortiz, Ruiz, and everyone else over 35 retires- well that puts Hughie in the top 15 of the world

Of course he could but that's completely irrelevant for the reasons I mentioned. How good you are is only part of the equation.

On a 1 to 10 scale Hughie:

Jab : 9
Right hand: 6
Left hook: 6
Uppercuts: 7
Chin: 10
Defence: 8
Workrate: 6
Fitness: 7
Aggression: 6
Momentum: 1
Charisma: 2
Fan friendliness of style: 2
Ticket selling ability: 0
Boxing political connections: 3

The final four things put him squarely in the who needs him club.

The fella certainly has a bit of skill and potential , BUT i think its been stifled by his father , training together obviously worked well for a while , but Hughie definetly needs to get away , go find his own feet , learn a more fan freindly style , and stop being a big suck who sems to depend on dad for anything and everything .

Basicly man up , be his own man , call out his cousins , tell the world he's gonna smash the jumped up little tv star cousin , then for fun he's gonna bash Shane on the same night ,, Then he's gonna , take care of Tyson cos he don't like him anymore , and if John wants some he can have it has well .

Get Joe Egan to train him , and maybee make it a tag team with him Joe , John and Tyson , other than that , he can stay has he is , a not bad fighter who no one wants to watch

The thing is I can’t work out what they do with him
And how they go about getting him a proper fight.

Since this latest comeback he’s been naming a date 3-4 months out and then coming to 2 weeks out still with no opponent and he then either fights a muppet or cans the date. So I’d say he’s best off forgetting that strategy and just waiting until he gets a fight made vs a proper opponent who’s of his kind of calibre and then announcing it. But then I bet he would just never get a fight because he is so impossible to sell so god help them ever getting him a fight. On top of that I bet he would turn down a mandatory shot at the Adeleye vs TKV winner (British title) because he would think that beneath him.

I would go and win a Brit title, best way to get a fan base, I do reckon he is a level above that, but it is a level he can look good at.
He looked great against Sexton.
He is wasting his time against prelim fighters.
Fight 3/4 times a year defending the Brit and Comm, and wait for his chance
