I agree with you mate. I think European title gets you a world top 15 ranking, thats what he needs.Coco wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025, 17:57 I would go and win a Brit title, best way to get a fan base, I do reckon he is a level above that, but it is a level he can look good at.
He looked great against Sexton.
He is wasting his time against prelim fighters.
Fight 3/4 times a year defending the Brit and Comm, and wait for his chance

Only one problem about the British title -
Hughie doesn't beat Fabio.

Fabio has vacated. I didn't know either until it was pointed out to me on here the other day.KiwiRider wrote: ↑27 Mar 2025, 15:05It's a great plan.Coco wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025, 17:57 I would go and win a Brit title, best way to get a fan base, I do reckon he is a level above that, but it is a level he can look good at.

Adelaye v TKV is for the vacant belt apparently.

Fabio held it for ages, had some cracking defences too

IMO there is no clamour from fans for Hughie to fight, so I don't see any promoter putting a lot of money up for him to work his way up. If I was his manager, I'd be saying it's time for him to roll the dice and be an opponent for one of the big boy, in the hope he could pull of the upset.
He should have taken the Wilder fight when he was offered it. He might have outpointed Wilder.

That's all he's ever done and it's failed every time. It's the mid level wins he's missing on his record. He's crushed cans then stepped up three times and comprehensively lost all three.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025, 11:43 IMO there is no clamour from fans for Hughie to fight, so I don't see any promoter putting a lot of money up for him to work his way up. What's the eff is the point of Hughie Fury fighting Dan Garber? I cannot think of a single reason that makes any sense whatsoever.

Had he been got any fans? That are not related to him?
He could just retire and no one would really care.
He can’t think he can still win a world title.
He should just win the British again and even go for the European title.

Re: Hughie Fury *updates*
Does Hughie care? That's the question I don't know the answer to. Plenty.of very good boxers simply couldn't be arsed with all that goes with it and walked away. Does Hughie feel like he can't walk away?
If he does care, he has to kick on now, he is a proper tough man who is also a very good boxer but he has shown me nothing in recent years to demonstrate he has anything like the drive of e.g. Fabio Wardley.

Apparently Fury mentioned Dillian Whyte in Ireland as a potential next fight and Dillian Whyte has come out on Instagram and said there have been no talks of the kind.
Re: Hughie Fury *updates*
Who and why would pay Hughie fury good money . Can't help but wonder if his dad is paying for this fight

Re: Hughie Fury *updates*
exactly, he has virtually no fans, there's no clout if you beat him, and with he'll prob make it ugly and leave the other guy's stock lower. in that sense, with the style he has he's too good for his own good.
but hes also lost all his steps up to world class so if youre investing on him becoming a champ or something that's very risky and also carries all the other detracting factors
and the idea that since he has the fury name there must be some kinda value to him just hasnt played out
he needs to start getting kod or something, then maybe people will be more eager to bring him in as opponent. that or cherry pick fights vs ABC ranked opponents to become a mandatory and hope it gets enforced - that route of course will take more of an investment on his team's side.

Hughie Fury could have been a decent, Top 10 level fighter. Possibly even won a vacated World Title but he's wasted his career.
29 wins in over 10 years, and not one of them is what you'd call good. What is the point of him fighting a schmuck like Gerber

Re: Hughie Fury *updates*
Thanks. Hughie only in a 6 rounder… wonder what time it will be on?
Re: Hughie Fury *updates*
It's probably the right fight for them both tbh. Hughie desperately needs a name that he can beat. Whyte who was starting to look bad before his ban and long lay off might be the opponent. Hughie loses to just about any other name.
Whyte needs any opponent that he can get. Preferably for him one without knockout power and one that might be overated. Both apply to Hughie.
A role of the dice for both of them that can pay off for only one of them. However, I doubt it happens.
Re: Hughie Fury *updates*
Says who? Nobody has mentioned the idea to Dillian and I can't for the life of me think why Dillian would be interested. Hope it does happen, of course, but can't see it as Hughie would ruin him and Dillian would be paid peanuts for the privilege.

If Issrar Asif (GBM Sports) is going to make waves as a promoter, this would be perfect. Two big names.joshj909 wrote: ↑04 Apr 2025, 11:36It's probably the right fight for them both tbh. Whyte already came out and said it’s bullshit. There’s been No talks.
