The weirdest thing to me is that Wilder had a comeback planned for March, and it fell through, and it takes 3 months to get a replacement at this level?

Maybe Wilder had a minor injury or something is my only guess. Otherwise you should've been able to dig up one of these kinda guys on a few weeks notice.

Wilder has so many good fights left even though he is 2”well over the hill.

Whyte, chisora, AJ, Joyce, Ruiz, miller….

Honestly if got a good win in one or 2 of them…. Usyk haha

Definitive last chance for Wilder, if he doesn't smash his opponent, he should retire for good

So a better choice of opponent would have been Trevor Bryan,, Adam Kownacki, Domenic Breazeale, Hughie Fury, Cassius Chaney, Otto Wallin, Wilder if he is still a quarter decent should blast this guy within 3 rounds.

For Wilder any name opponent isn't "a better choice"

He needs a guaranteed win.

He's definitely shot, but he's still a name, and in Boxing if you're a name you're only ever a few wins away from getting another big money fight.

I don’t hate picking an opponent you know you can KO easily and early. My problem is it is that it took him a year from his last loss.

Good rest is important after a bad ko, then chrissy off, but an opponent of this levle should have been early march. Then another mid may… get 2 highlight KOs, pretend he has the fire back, then look for a real fight (Whyte, AJ, chisora, Ruiz, miller, pulev, even usyk…)…

I think all he really wants is one more big payday. He may be able to kid himself that he's able to win the title again, but I think in his heart of hearts he knows better than that.

On a first glance, it's not bad
Looks competitive
Let's see what the promotion is like and if they have the ability to pull of an exciting entertaining evening
Got Deontay Wilder at the the top of the bill to draw them in

Wilder TKO7 punching bag.

The punching bag didn’t want to be there. He barely threw anything, and the ref stopped the fight once he was tired of his bs.

Wilder should just fight Ngannou or AJ next and retire after. A fight against Chisora in the UK, so they can be each other's 50th opponent, would also be kinda funny.

That said, I can see all of them sparking him out.

yep. agree. and a Chisora-Wilder fight has the potential to be Rocky levels of long, bloody slugging to the death, if Wilder still has remnants of his chin left. He seemingly can't knock people out anymore so it would drag on.

This version of Wilder will get knocked senseless by Joshua next year.

It's only a question of how much he will get paid for the privilege.

It's kind of unsettling to see how easily Wilder continues to be manipulated by all those vultures around him...

This can only end badly for him.

Herndon was actually outboxed by Wilder, that's how little that man had to offer.
Would have been nice if the reff. would have let the fight continue, we missed out of a nice highlight KO

Wilder's shoulder isn't recovered from the surgery, it appears. That right hand is gone. Opponent was terrible. To me, the stoppage wasn't a bad call by the ref.

Not a good look. He should retire. Don't know which was worse, the performance or the polka dotted legging.

Wilder is not even good enough to be considered the great "American hope. " That was years ago, and mostly appealed to the punch drunk American fans.
