Mike McCallum vs. Mustafa Hamsho

15 Rounds Middleweight Bout

The Bodysnatcher would counter the swarming southpaw behind his left jabs and great body punches to take a decision. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Mike McCallum was in a different class. McCallum by late KO or unanimous decision.

I'd favor McCallum by UD here. Hamsho may have never reached the pinnacle, but he was legitimately a damn solid contender, and I think he'd give McCallum a fight here, but McCallum is the superior fighter, and his class will tell over him. I think he'd win 8 rounds to 4 or 9 rounds to 3 in a clear, but hard fought victory.

McCallum on cuts, around the 10th or 11th. Hamsho was a heck of a tough contender but my guess is he’d be eating McCallum’s power shots and there’d be a bad eye cut along the way

You can lose to anybody at any point in time. There's no shame losing to Sumbu Kalambay. Still, it doesn't change the fact that the guy Mike McCallum was a complete boxer. One of the top 5 in my view.

Anderson what happened in the rematch when McCallum got accostumed to the Middleweight division?

Why you don't mention that?

Mike McCallum one of the top 5 of all time? Wow. I mean WOW.

Against, Kalambay it was just a bad night that all. And the rematch when McCallum was lucky to get the decision, just another bad night. Nothing more to see here.

I am not saying that he was top 5 all-time pound per pound great. He is not Roberto Duran nor Muhammad Ali.

All I am saying that the great Mike McCallum is one of the top 5 most complete boxers that I have ever seen. He was much more complete than Ali. But, Ali achieved more than he.

Probably McCallum needed those fights with The 4 Kings to elevate his greatness. He didn't had the breaks. No time to cry about it. It is what it is.

But, the guy was a complete fighter! One of the best I have seen.

If he was so "complete" he would have done better.

What you mean better? Mike McCallum won 3 world titles in 3 different weight classes. That ain't enough?

He is arguably the best 154lbs fighter that ever lived. It's between him and the great Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns at that weight.

And you know what? I would have not be surprised if McCallum knocks him out. He was that good.

Why don't you ask him? Ask him about the second fight, too. What really happened. Okay?

I have never said top 5 in my lifetime. I have said that the great Mike MacCallum is one of the top 5 most complete boxers that I have ever seen.

Not one of the top 5 greatest boxers. There's a difference.
