Both a joke, and a threat to the British boys.

Play nice lads or the money dries up.

Cultural misunderstanding. Saudis don't do April Fool. Fair play to Turki for trying.

When I read the first part of the tweet I was like wtf.. what if he actually has. Then quickly realised the date.

Maybe it is a veiled threat because I can imagine some people trying to pull the Saudi pants down. Yes, we are loaded, but you won’t take the piss out of us. I say to the pros cashing now whilst you can because when the tap gets turned off, people are going to regret trying to haggle with the Saudi. They will pay you what you are worth and more, don’t take the piss.

It should be a subtle reminder that the Saudi Sports washing money is fickle.
I know it is a joke, but they could pull the plug overnight.
Too many eggs are being put into that basket IMO.

In any particular era Boxing is often driven by 1 or 2 larger than life promoters, and a bunch of small fries running the smaller shows underneath 'em.

When the Big Fish dies off or goes away. The Smaller Fish just start getting bigger, and it all works itself out. Sometimes there's a few weak years though where different guys are vying for the top spot, and keep freezing each other out, but more often than not there does tend to be just 1 or 2 guys that are truly booking the TOP shows the sport has to offer.

Turki is spreading enough money around, and that even if he should stop promoting Boxing I think somebody else will have made enough of his money to carry on with the big shows, and keep the circus going.
