He has some beard on him and a work rate. He dragged Danny Boy deep for a while and he might take Wardley there too

Wardley gassed pretty badly in the first Clarke fight, so it could get rough for him in there
yes that would be my concern for fabio , he tends to like a stand up shoot out which is draining especially against a huge lump like miller .
But I am sure he and the team are intelligent enough to have a better game plan than that .

https://talksport.com/boxing/3055094/fa ... rat-pulev/

Wardley revealed to talkSPORT.com that Pulev rejected an offer from his team, resulting in Miller getting the call to face him in a WBA interim title fight on June 7 in the avid Ipswich Town fan's homecoming fight at Portman Road.

"In simple terms, he is scared of me and didn't want the fight," Wardley said during an exclusive interview with talkSPORT.

"In my last fight [against Frazer Clarke], I pricked up a few ears.

"It made a few people pay attention, or made a few people cower and turn away.

"It isn't the first fight we've offered that has been turned down, and it probably won't be the last.

"That is a little bit of credit I may give to Jarrell Miller. He said yes, and there wasn't much hesitation...

"I probably don't see that fight [with Pulev] ever happening because I'm only going to get better.

"So I don't expect him to turn around and change his mind unless he reads this interview and gets a bit angry."

Wardley to face Miller at Portman Road on 7 June

British heavyweight Fabio Wardley will take on American Jarrell Miller at Ipswich Town's Portman Road for the WBA 'interim' title on 7 June.

Wardley is a lifelong fan of the Premier League club and said a fight at the stadium was "on the cards" after beating fellow Briton Frazer Clarke in October.

The undefeated 30-year-old vacated his British title in March as he pursues a world title.

"As a proud Tractor Boy born and bred in Ipswich, this is a dream come true for me," Wardley said.

"Fighting for a world title at Portman Road means everything to me. I've got a tough opponent in front of me, but that's what I live for.

"I'm ready to dig deep, go to battle, and leave it all in the ring. It's going to be a war, and I can't wait to give my hometown crowd a spectacle they'll never forget."

Wardley was set to face WBA 'regular' champion Kubrat Pulev but will meet 36-year-old Miller instead.

Miller has not won since March 2023, with his last two fights ending in a defeat by Daniel Dubois and a draw with Andy Ruiz Jr in August.

He was in talks to face Derek Chisora in February but negotiations fell through amid a dispute between the American and his promoter.

Wardley, who contested just a handful of unlicensed white collar bouts before turning professional in 2017, has 18 wins and one draw on his record, with 17 victories via stoppage.

"It is a huge pleasure for me to deliver Fabio his dream of fighting at Portman Road," Queensberry's allegedly, who promotes Wardley, said.

"It is what he has spoken about from day one of our alliance and I know how much Ipswich Town means to him."

Excellent. Great match. I will buy tickets for this and plan a short holiday around it, never really spent much time in Suffolk/Norfolk area.

If any undercard fighters (or even Fabio) are shifting tickets and read this, pm me, I would rather you have the commission than Ticketmaster. Cheers.

P.s. Pulev isn't "scared" of anybody. They didn't offer him enough money to take the fight and I'm glad.

Stadium hold 30,056..

Now i doubt they will use the whole stadium... Who knows.

The can use both of the bigger double-tier stands. The Sir Bobby Robson and Sir Alf Ramsey Stands.

then floor seats around there.

Bobby Robson stand holds 7,500 and Alf Ramsey stand holds 7,000..

That's already 14k, they can probably do 20k+ easily..

Ipswich Town has 20,000 season ticket holders, who will get first dibs at the tickets.

Let's see if Ed Sheeran performs.

If it wasn’t for the first Frazer Clark fight I would back miller. But knowing wardly can be gritty for 12 I have it a 50-50.

Official prediction… wardly injures his right hand… and really loses a close fight…. But gets gifted a SD

Clark is miles behind Miller in every way as a pro, though.

It's a massive test for Fabio. Hope it's more Ward v Gatti than Ward v Neary buy it'll be value for money nonetheless.
