Kevin Brown, Lenier Pero, Gurgen Hovhannisyan feature on April 18 show

Junior welterweight prospect Kevin Brown has spent his entire professional career at the Caribe Royale Orlando, and that is where he will return on April 18.

Brown, 6-0 (3 KOs), will go for his seventh win at the venue, taking on Esteuri Suero, 14-2 (10 KOs), in the 10-round main event of a DAZN broadcast promoted by Boxlab Promotions.

Brown is a 31-year-old originally from Cuba who now lives in Las Vegas. This is his first fight of 2025. Last year, he came off the canvas to take a split decision over the 12-2 Idalberto Umara in May and then won a unanimous decision over the 18-1 John Bauza in September.

Suero is a 24-year-old from the Dominican Republic who also now calls Vegas home. Last year he was disqualified for repeatedly fouling lightweight prospect Floyd Schofield in March. Suero returned in October, shutting out the 8-2-1 Carlos Beras.

The undercard features several recognizable names, including heavyweight prospects Lenier Pero and Gurgen Hovhannisyan in separate fights, plus a 10-round co-feature between unbeaten lightweight Hendri Cedeno, 15-0 (11 KOs), and the aforementioned Umara, now 13-3 (9 KOs).

Pero, 11-0 (8 KOs), will face Detrailous Webster, 9-4 (5 KOs) in a 10-round bout.

Hovhannisyan, 7-0 (6 KOs), will fight Dajuan Calloway, 11-3 (9 KOs), in an eight-rounder.

Also on the undercard:

Christopher Diaz-Velez, 29-5 (19 KOs), will meet Jose Antonio Meza, 9-10 (2 KOs), in an eight-round junior lightweight bout.

Antraveous Ingram, 9-0 (4 KOs), will step in with Jose Arturo Esquivel, 10-9 (2 KOs), in an eight-round junior middleweight bout.

Roberto Gomez, 5-0 (2 KOs), will face Ulises Carvajal, 5-19 (3 KOs), in a six-round junior lightweight bout.

Geise Reyes Del Verso, 5-0 (4 KOs), will take on an opponent still to be determined in a six-round welterweight bout.

Carlos Lebron, 4-1-1 (4 KOs), will meet the debuting Jose Leon in a four-round junior featherweight bout.

The debuting Jobed Collazo will step in with Erion Johnson, 1-8 (0 KOs), in a four-round lightweight bout.

Abel Gonzalez, 7-0 (5 KOs), will face Ryan Wilczak, 11-0 (6 KOs), in an eight-round super middleweight bout.

The guy big Gurg is facing, Dajuan Calloway, had never heard of him before, weighed in at 421 pounds! That is the heaviest I've ever heard of a pro boxer being for a match.
Oh, and he's 6'3''
Promising match up I'm sure.

Don't get it twisted Calloway is a decent boxer with a stinging hard snappy jab. I think he beats soft yup soft G Hovah. Might stop him. He has timing too and power. Don't be fooled bc he look like black Butterbean. He can fight

Brown wins a UD, had it 96-91 as did one of the judges, one had it closer and the other had it a couple wider, crap fight on the main, a torrid 9th round for Suero tipped it in Brown's favor, I thought Suero edged the first 3 rounds, wasn't much happening, both playing counter punchers with neither man taking the initiative but Suero slightly busier as Brown done next to nothing ,Brown did start having some success as it wore on but we're talking single punches, things turned on their head in round 9 when Brown rocked Suero with a big right then another sent him down, he got up but kept holding on for dear life eventually getting a point off rightly so, Brown had Suero down again before the round was out but it looked scrappy, either way that was the round which effectively lost Suero the fight although I did have him winning the 10th as Brown coasted

Deserved win for Brown in the end but still not overly impressed
