I messaged Luke Jackson, Tasmania native who ‘d seen live against Carl Frampton, basically just saying I’m going to be staying there for a few months and asking where the best gyms are. His childhood coach called me an hour later and totally took me in, got me beat up a few times and got me a job. Was a belter little few months. I remember living there during the mad few weeks we had Spence-Porter, Inoue-Donaire and Taylor-Prograis.
Thanks for asking man, I’m buzzing just reminiscing

I messaged Luke Jackson on his public Instagram, having never met him, a week later and I felt part of the community. Especially out in the regional areas, Aussies really do look out for each other.handsofstone wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 08:05That's brilliant mate, Aussies and their neighbors are dudesDelta Jay wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 07:37I spent a year travelling around Australia as a much younger man and was just showing up to different gyms all the time. Bellew v mcKenzie 1 , I seem to remember the one punch landed that looked like Bellew was out and then the 2nd punch landed and seemed to wake him up.
