Re: Prime Archie Moore vs Charley Burley At (175)
That version of Moore was later floored by Bivins and was learning a lot from his losses from burley and Charles and Bivins and develop better either way his peak was around 1948-1955 and that version of morre that fought burley was 1944 not the one from 1948-1955 where he seems packing up more wins against Chase Lytell Bivins Williams

This is a great question. I'll go with Moore due to the weight advantage.

Oh, okay. I see. You got a point there. The great Archie Moore, circa 1948-55, was as good as ever been. Well, in that case, at Light-Heavyweight, I got to pick Moore over the great Charley Burley in a rematch somewhere and time around 1948. He was much more seasoned and mature at the time while Burley was at the tailgate of his career.1474360 wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 21:56 That version of Moore was later floored by Bivins and was learning a lot from his losses from burley and Charles and Bivins and develop better either way his peak was around 1948-1955 and that version of morre that fought burley was 1944 not the one from 1948-1955 where he seems packing up more wins against Chase Lytell Bivins Williams

I saw the record of the great Archie Moore after fighting the great Charley Burley in April 1944. After the Burley fight, Moore jumped to Light-Heavyweight.

Ancient Archie was a beast at light heavyweight and he would beat Burley by decision due to Moore's size advantage.

I strongly agree Elmer, anything could happen.

Burley takes decision. Size wouldn’t make the difference here. Say Moore makes 175 , Charley comes in at 165 , no big deal.

Re: Prime Archie Moore vs Charley Burley At (175)
There gonna be a weight difference that matters and this is peak Moore that gonna faced burley that also gonna make the difference because 1. this version of Archie Moore that won the light heavyweight title against Joey maxim is much better than the Archie Moore that Charley burley faces cause 2. This wasn’t peak Moore as this was middleweight version of Moore which wasn’t his best weight and later was floored by bivins his peak was at light heavyweight around 1948-1955 where he learn from those losses to burley bivins and Charles and gotten better especially when he avenged his losses to bivins 3. Speaking of bivins this match would be Archie Moore best weight which would be a massive disadvantage as Charley burley best weight was around welter/middle and would be too small for light heavyweight and didn’t accomplish much outside of the billy smith win as he fall short against Charley Doc Williams which Moore destroyed
