Dalton smith is having a great run to a belt…
Seriously has he beat a top 25? I don’t think so.
How many top 50 wins does he have? Zepeda?

Imagine being a headliner, mandatory for a world title and having never beat anyone good…

The insane thing is his world title shot is going to be against a guy that might not even be top 25… I mean he probably is, but I wouldent say he definatly is… fans think he lost to sandor (boxrec 31) and fans think he lost to akhemedov (boxrec 60)…

So smith COULD win the WBC belt headlining stadium fight at home having never even fought a genuine top 25 (in some opinions)…

the weird thing about his run, is that he got a career best win against zepeda, which seemed like a break out. then it's been all worse since then

From an entertainment point of view...blame the matchmaker/manager/promoter !

Germain was nothing more than a high-end survivor. At least Smith pulled out some lightening fast punches that dropped Germain, otherwise there would have been zero highlights.

The only positive I can think of is Smith got 12 rounds in the bank, wasn't even out of breath and won by a landslide.

I really hope Dalton is out again very soon against an opponent who comes to fight.

We've all seen talents go to waste but for pity's sake...don't let this happen with Dalton smith ! :witzend:

If Smith's team really want to get the British boxing fans buzzing about Dalton....get out the cheque book and make the fight with that bottle job Adam Azim next :box:

The Mcguigans will furiously resist because they know Dalton will cream their guy, but an offer must be made that they simply can't refuse :OhYes:

Seen a lot of praise for Smith from the American quarters, I'd have thought they'd be more scathing than us

The big difference with tonight's boxing is both guys will want to win, that alone should generate more entertainment.

I'm not surprised the yanks recognise Dalton's ability. He's an outstanding talent...the question is will he be managed correctly from now on ? :maybe:

A lot of hype around smith. He should have finished that guy in 5 rounds

Leaves his chin out after he throws and is still a huge work in progress for me.

It's laughable that they saying 'surely a title fight next"

He's fought literally nobody. 30 to 40 years ago you had to earn the shot by fighting hard fights again and again. Now the shots are given to novices who don't have any depth to them. Surely a title can't mean as much now as it did then?

Smith has talent but that was not a great performance last night and that bloke was a C level at best

Who decided to bring Adam Smith back on commentary? If we have to suffer his one sided nonsense we could have at least had a "There's the respect" . They didn't even have the decency to give us that

I like smith, but he seems to be getting more and more underwhelming as time goes on

On that showing last night I'd pick Azim .

If the roles were reversed and the McGuigans handled Dalton's career they would be hounding Azim to make a fight.

Winning an IBO title is the classic get out clause for Azim and the McGuigans know this.

When did you see Frampton, Josh Taylor or Bilham-Smith winning completely fake world titles on the way up
