Liam Cameron dropping to super MW
He posted today he’s dropping to a more natural weight for him, super middleweight. Be interesting to see what he does as he’s 35 later this year so time not on his side. Probably hoping for a big Riyadh pay day

english level is his max, been shown again and again. he has a bit of a name now, so maybe will get some more opportunities out of it at least

Yeah I agree, strike while the iron is hot in terms of his profile at the moment!margaret thatcher wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025, 12:27 english level is his max, been shown again and again. he has a bit of a name now, so maybe will get some more opportunities out of it at least

He will still get work as an opponent in title class as long as he is flexible with the weight.
Still some decent paydays ahead in the next couple of years, especially as his profile has been hugely increased.

On a personal note I’m a bit gutted Whittaker took the rematch.
Simpson v Cameron, Barnsley v Sheffield would have been huge round these parts.
I hoped Simpson would get that fight as I felt Cameron was getting massively overrated based on Whittaker underperforming for whatever reason.
Maybe he wants that fight. If Simpson wins in June & Cameron gets a win against a body then it’s a Sheffield Arena headline fight in the Autumn.
I can’t really see Cameron getting a bigger fight than that & it’s a fight Simpson’s team would take.

Re: Liam Cameron dropping to super MW
Cameron was never a Light Heavy - so sensible move. I think a bit like Dave Allen people were looking a bit too much into the fight - yes I might get egg on my face here. Whittikar / Fisher was always going to learn more from fight one than their aging opponent. Yes, Allen / Cameron should have got more from their fight (and at least Cameron can always say that Whittikar will never have a 100% fight record thanks to him - that draw will always be on the Whittikar's record) - but, it always felt a case of that being Allen/Cameron one and only chance to get the big W over their hyped opponent.
