Bunch of professional lookalikes. Can't have ring girls with the Saudis involved, they wouldn't know where to shit otherwise.

Conor Benn has just stated …

“I'm devastated about losing this fight, I need to go to an empty room to gather my thoughts for a while”

Daniel Levy has just given him the keys to the Spurs trophy room and said crack on 😂

It was a good fight, it was competitive and had some back and forth rallies, both of them got hit flush plenty of times and for me it was up in the air going into 11 and 12.
Both of them came to fight, there was no running and excessive holding or anything else to tarnish the bout, plenty of decent boxing ability, jabs, hooks body shots and they weren't holding back.
The pace was steady throughout with very few lulls or dull moments.
It exceeded my expectations and if they don't put things on a long pause I'd be up for a rematch.

It's just a bit of boxing snobbery mate. Joke fight, not for a title, overpaid celebrity fighters cashing in, not a high enough level etc etc

I get all that, but I thought it was a superb fight and had everything that I love about boxing, guts, heart, passion, excitement and massive desire to win. They both fought to the last drop in my opinion and short changed nobody.

Having watched their fathers fight all those years ago and now watching this was a quite surreal

I'll admit to having a slight lump in the throat when Dre kicked in, father and son walking towards the ring together. Happy for Junior .
It's difficult for purists in all disciplines sometimes. There are truly great musicians who haven't got a pot to piss in and those people who listen to and appreciate them often can't get their heads around why some of the commercial stuff that is theoretically crap has so much success.

Commercial success and being the best often have very little correlation.

I get that, however someone like myself who enjoys both a good scrap and a high level chess match struggles to understand why one has to exclude the other.

Skill wise the Catterall v Prograis fight was a higher level fight than this, whereas that fight bored me to death and I would never rematch the whole 12 rounds, this one I would

I don't think you do either, I can watch either gladly but I do know people who genuinely can't cope with "commercial crap" and it's not snobbery per se, they are just on a different intellectual level or their brains are wired differently. Each to their own.

Don't want to see a rematch, Eubank won't go to the well again after that. His time has come to pack it in with that brilliant display.

Benn can go back down to his weight and get his arse kicked by a hungry pro.
Yh, would love for this to be a one and done.

I think they can’t top it
I don't think Eubank would win a rematch. He would maybe rematch for the cash but it wouldn't be special.

A big problem with a rematch is that this can't be beaten. The big story lines have already been done.

Yeah - a bit stupid trying to push that.

Benn got a better reaction than I was expecting and I’m sure got more fans from such a good fight. The people’s champ narrative is about 10 levels too far though.

I thought both Eubank Jr and Benn came across well post fight. Gave each other credit and nice for Benn to wish Eubank well in hospital.

I thought Shalom came across well too. He didn’t go overboard like he did with Whittaker winning and gave a very fair assessment of things.

Eddie, as often the case, needed to read things better. Him saying Benn’s the people’s champion is more likely to piss people off then get their support. Just say he fought great, never stopped trying and it will make him a better fighter etc.

Can't remember the last time I saw that many power shots being thrown in the last four rounds of a twelve rounder.

Just rematched the fight. Scores were fair on a second viewing. I thought it was a bit wide on the night.

Massive respect to both men, but the nuts Benn showed in that 12th round was something else. For all his mouth, he stood his ground like a warrior in there.

Not surprised. The contract (that he signed tbf) literally stopped him from best rehydrating his body. What did people expect to happen?

Broken jaw, apparently.

Failed test aside, they did their fathers proud. Neither are them are as good as their father's, but it was a hell of a scrap.

Don't you think he could be in hospital because his jaw is broken?
