He has never been on the naughty step for me. Competitive sport is and always has been riddled with dodges, cheating and capering. The idea it's ever been pure is idealistic nonsense.
Don't get involved in the first place if you want things to be fair and above board is my advice.
Get your contracts in order. Fighters who don't want their opponents to be on PEDs need to insist on testing and significant penalties paid directly to them for failures (strict liability, payment within 7 days of A sample failure), . I'd also want full disclosure of TUEs and penalties for not adhering to that requirement properly.
Totally agree.
Floyd was caught with the drip in his arm. Jones Jr's career nose-dived once his lawyers couldn't keep his results out of court. Pac... Ali was on steroids in the 70s.
If Ali was juicing and he was the talent he was...and he lost to Norton... then what was Norton on?

My issue isn't being drug cheat per se, it's the cheating of the system and the lack of consequences
We still don't know how that got into his system. That would always rankle with me personally. I'm glad he lost, just wanted the KO but Eubank looked dead on his feet early doors.

My understand is that he is now The Peoples Champion.
Which is confusing because everyone I spoke to on Sunday (and a lot watched or listened to that fight) wanted Eubank to win.
It’s dumb of Eddie to say that because it’s not true and it’s not necessary either as it will annoy people and potentially make them more anti Conor. Reminded me of when they tried to give AJ the moniker of ‘Future People’s Champion’ early on in his pro career. Those kind of terms shouldn’t be given by anyone in a fighters team.
I was strangely surprised how little negative reaction Benn had on Saturday. I was expecting him to be heavily boo’d during his ring walk but he got an ok response. Eubank was clearly the crowd favourite but it wasn’t as much as I was expecting.
I’m not as anti Benn as some but I don’t think I’ll have be a big supporter of him either because of the amount of unanswered questions. His link to Dr Usman is a real bad one and there’s been no evidence released publicly that overrides that. Whether he knew he was doping is perhaps different as he doesn’t come across to me as he’s lying. Who knows though.
Every drugs incident is different.
Fury wasn’t really punished for his yet managed to get big support. Does anyone believe the uncastrated boar stuff? I doubt it.
I’ve read a lot about Canelo’s case and I’m pretty confident he didn’t intentionally cheat so I’ve no issue with him really. Others don’t care and happily call him a drugs cheat.
If bang average, snidely little cheat Conor Benn is the people’s champion then I’m the 44th President of the USA, Barack Obama
Eddie and his media goons are the only ones with anything positive to say about Conor. They’re of course hoping to drum up interest in an unnecessary and irrelevant rematch.
He’s a drug cheat, that’s never going to change for me. However, there are many of them in the sport , most of whom have never been caught or at least exposed in the public.
Benn is now about joint 3rd with Eubank, as the biggest current commercial name in British boxing.
He proved his heart etc on Saturday night. It’s time to forgive, but not necessarily forget the past IMO.
