Rudy Koopmans v Frankie Lucas
Rudy Koopmans v Frankie Lucas
Lucas was disqualified for butting against the unbeaten Koopmans back in the day, in case you want to mention it.
Re: Rudy Koopmans v Frankie Lucas
Cheers, Wouter. Frankie was a savage, dedicated fighter who probably deserved to win the British middleweight title but he lost on a bad cut to Kevin Finnegan for the vacant title in 1977, having fought well up to the finish in round 11 (Finnegan was also cut) and might have beaten a young Tony Sibson in a later shot but he lost his cool and threw down the gauntlet. Sibson picked it up and crushed Lucas in five thrilling rounds.
