Saudi Money lead to complacent fighters??

Post by Cask »

How much of this "investment" from these headchoppers going to improve the sport when the guaranteed oil money means you just have to basically show up, ala Bakole last two fights

Even taking away the immorality of it, it will be counter productive too, Sunny Edwards wanted out of that fight because he had Saudi oil AND Daniel Kinahan drug money , why would he want to be there when its all going wrong??

While it’s still in boom you don’t notice the complacency because it’s canceled out by the opportunity’s presented.

But when they try to tighten things up to a reasonable level… that’s the shit zone.

It’s the same as when dazn went into overpay mode and money garcia vs Vargas was somehow a 8 figure fight…

I hope turki has a long term plan but I doubt it. What’s really needed is investment into English-brittish levle (internationally) and into paying quality journeymen decent cash to fight prospects.

If you want to draw epic prospect boxers into boxing they have to see the top dogs making millions… but you can’t run a division with 5 prospects and 10 contenders.. people have to see that there is a decent living in being a decent boxer…
