Good decision to get the towel in. I reckon Woods career would be a few fights less had the towel not come in.

Great stuff from both. :salut:

Leigh can retire - incredible career what he made out of himself.
Cacace not old in boxing years and can have a few more big fights.

Bad, bad reffing.
AC is a bad man. He battered the shite out of Wood. Just like he did Cordina. Punches way harder than it seems.

Finally some big shots getting through, Cacace hurting Wood to the head and body multiple times in the 9th, and the towel comes in from Wood's corner.

TKO 9 Cacace

Howard Foster would have stopped that on about 10 separate occasions!

Smith thinks that Cacace is one of the best in the world after beating Cordina, Warrington and now Wood, a world class athlete

10th I think, was not checking rounds, Wood got beat up, count due to ropes then towel in, very brave man is Wood but got old in there, Cacace's size showed

You think he's got a future going forward after that performance at the top level, he got soundly beaten.

Been a good servant to the game but I don't see him carrying on at British type level.

I saw something completely different, a one sided contest and a referee willing to let a fighter take too much punishment and the corner throwing the towel in :-?

Ah, it was a decent fight and the stoppage/towel got just the right balance imo.

That's what I saw. From round 1! Davison at it again with the crucial advice "he's fukked".

I thought it was a good fight, competitive but Cacare was always a step ahead, and when he had the chance really turned up the heat.
The ref gave him every chance, and the stoppage was at the right time.

Imagine Adam Smith and Gareth Davies commenting together....

It was good to hear Smith clear up that Wood is Leigh Woods surname, and not in reference to the tree cut down by Hadrian's wall

Interesting fight, be a cracker, got a feeling that moving up in weight wouldn't suit Ball, and the Irishman would be too big

Realistically he would have stopped it after the away fighter was caught with a stiff jab in the first

Cracking fight, Cacace was brilliant, his switch ups constantly befuddled Wood, he was fighting southpaw for spells, his speed and punch variation was on point, caught Wood with all sorts of punches from both hands and both stances, Wood tried to press , double up his jab but couldn't get out of the way of Cacace's shots, Wood looked like he might be finding his way into it in the middle rounds but Cacace then went up a gear and pulled away, hurt Wood in the 9th and never let him off the hook, ropes kept him up for the knockdown, right call by the ref, Cacace just opened him up and landed everything in the book, Wood too brave for his own good and tried to punch his way out of trouble, insanely tough and no quit, he was hurt, rocking then Cacace creased him to the body a few times as well if it wasn't bad enough, good call by the corner to throw the towel, Cacace excellent
