Justin Pauldo-Juan Carlos Burgos set for June 7 in San Antonio

Boxing’s “Million Dollar Man” Justin Pauldo is back in action on ProBox TV to fight Mexican veteran Juan Carlos Burgos.

They will meet at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday June 7. It’s the same venue where Pauldo last fought – and stopped tough Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov in eight rounds.

Pauldo, a lightweight, is now 18-2 (9 KOs). Though born in Orlando, he fights out of Houston.

Burgos, a former world title challenger, has been mixing it up at a high level for years, swapping punches with the likes of hot prospect Andy Cruz, champion Keyshawn Davis, Angel Fierro, Mikey Garcia and Devin Haney.

Pauldo, meanwhile, is in his prime at 30 years old, ranked in the top 15 by both the WBC and the WBO, and will look to stake his claim to a world title fight with an impressive performance.

Burgos, 37, is 36-8-3 (22 KOs).

On the same card, teenage sensation Emiliano Moreno will return to the ring, with the 19-year-old from Long Beach, California, hoping to improve to 13-0. The welterweight prospect meets experienced Ecuadorian Erick Bone, 29-7 (15 KOs).

The show also features bantamweight Michael Angeletti, 13-0 (8 KOs); junior lightweight Xavier Bocanegra, 7-0 (5 KOs); and his brother Ranulfo Bocanegra, a 2-0 (1 KO) featherweight.

And there’s a host of prospects and other fighters on the bill, including Emilio Garcia, 1-0 (1 KO), a Texan welterweight; Amador Mendez, 3-0 (2 KOs), a lightweight from the same state; Rianna Rios, 9-0 (1 KO), a southpaw bantamweight residing in Maryland but born in Texas; Amanda Sendejo, a 1-0 Texan flyweight; Jesus Martinez, a 9-0-1 (4 KOs) flyweight; junior welterweight Jason Limon, 10-2-1 (2 KOs); and Figo Ramirez, 9-0 (4 KOs), a Mexican who lives in Texas and fights at junior featherweight.

Michael Angeletti-Eros Correa new main event for ProBox TV

A bantamweight fight with title implications between Michael Angeletti and Eros Correa will now be the main event of Saturday’s ProBox TV event at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas after the original main event fell out.

Angeletti tipped the scales at 117.8lbs, while Correa came in at 118.0lbs weight limit.

Angeletti, 13-0 (8 KOs), from Spring, Texas, will find himself getting top billing in his home state. The 28-year-old laid his grandfather to rest Sunday and now will be featured in the most high-profile fight of his career. Angeletti last fought in February, knocking out Judy Flores in the third round at the same venue, and he enters the fight ranked No.15 by the IBF.

Correa, 15-1 (9 KOs), the 32-year-old from San Jose, California, enters on a five-fight winning streak after his lone defeat to Katsuma Akitsugi in 2021. Corea's last fight was an eight-round unanimous decision over Jose Saant in March.

Lightweight Justin Pauldo, 18-2 (9 KOs), coming off a career-best knockout of former junior lightweight titleholder Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov in February, was the original main event. Pauldo, the 30-year-old from Houston, was set to face Juan Carlos Burgos, 36-8-3 (22 KOs), a 37-year-old from Tijuana, Mexico, but Pauldo was unable to make the contracted weight and the two teams could not come to an agreement for the bout to continue.

The weigh-in results are below:

Bantamweight – 10 rounds
Michael Angeletti (117.8lbs) vs Eros Correa (118.0lbs)

Welterweight – 10 rounds

Michael Angeletti laid his grandfather to rest on Sunday and fights this Saturday

The unbeaten bantamweight now has to push forward with his next ring assignment. Angeletti will face Eros Correa in a 10-round bout. It will air on ProBox TV this Saturday from the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas.

Angeletti, 13-0 (8 KOs), will dedicate this upcoming bout to Arthur Lee Kennedy, his grandfather, who was a pastor in Mississippi. Angeletti, a 28-year-old from Spring, Texas, recalled the hectic fight week.

“I laid my grandpa to rest [on Sunday]. I just came back from Mississippi,” Angeletti told BS on Monday. “I got back [Sunday night] and went straight to the gym right off the flight. I am inspired.

“He was a good person, so I'm not worried about where he's going after life. He lived a really good life, a very spiritual guy, so I have my faith knowing that he's in a better place now, and he wouldn't want me to worry.”

Angeletti will fight for the second time in 2025. though with a far heavier burden than his last outing. He competed in February, knocking out Judy Flores.

Correa, 15-1 (9 KOs), represents the most accomplished fighter than Angeletti has faced as a professional. The 32-year-old from San Jose, California, had a deep amateur pedigree prior to his 2017 pro debut.

A five-fight win streak accompanies Correa into the ring after a startling upset loss to Katsuma Akitsugi in 2021. The current run includes an upset of his own, a June 2022 split decision victory over former title challenger Saul Sanchez.

“I'm here to show that my skills surpass his, and I'm the best fighter in this division,” vowed Angeletti. “He is just another stepping stone for me in my career right now. When I have more pressure with things like this, I tend to fight better. I'm locked in, focused, and I'm super ready.”

Though Angeletti is quick to point out that he isn’t overlooking anyone, he will monitor a title unification bout in his division.

WBC bantamweight titlist Junto Nakatani and IBF beltholer Ryosuke Nishida will meet this Sunday in Tokyo. The bout will come mere hours after Angeletti’s own fight this weekend.

“Eventually, in the future, I would love to see any one of those guys keep at the top of the division,” Angeletti said.

He first needs to take care of his own task at hand. He seems fairly confident of accomplishing that mission.

“I'm faster, I'm better defensively, my IQ is higher,” Angeletti said in rattling off a quick list of his believed advantages. “It's a lot of different things that I know I do better. My jab is better. I think I can really showcase my skills and why I am the better boxer.”
