Nino Benvenuti R.I.P.
Former Jr middle weight and middle weight champ Nino Benvenuti has passed away. Truly a great fighter.
Re: Nino Benvenuti R.I.P.
Sorry to hear this.
I will always remember his three fights with Emile Griffith, especially the first one. MSG went crazy that night.
RIP, Nino.

He will be remembered for his trilogy fight with Emile Griffith at 2-1 and losing both fights with Carlos Monzon. He will also be remembered for rallying from behind "El Feo" Luis Rodriguez through the first 10 rounds until he knocked him out cold with a big left hook. Since Benvenuti passed away, the oldest living former World Middleweight Champion is now Vito Antuofermo. Anyways, RIP Nino Benvenuti or Champ

Rest in peace, champ!
Nino Benvenutti was the most outstanding boxing Olympic Golf medalist in his own soil, in Rome 1960.
He was voted as the best boxer of the Olympic games that year ahead of Cassius Clay.
He started his career by winning 65 fights in a row. Lost his unbeaten record against Kim Ki Soo in an upset for the World Jr Middleweight Crown in 1966.
Where would you rank Nino at middleweight all-time?

RIP to a great Champion. I saw the 3rd Griffith fight and the Tiger fight (both at the Garden). Great bouts - great memories, thanks Champ.
