Connor Calzaghe.

Post by MasterG »

Just seen him on a FB page padding with his dad, Joe.

Has Connor had any amateur fights?

Is this a new father/son outfit about to emerge?

Seems to be a coach, below on a boxing gym site

Connor Calzaghe is a young, up-and-coming boxing coach and talent. Born in 1997, Connor is a fully qualified boxing coach from Wales, and son of Joe Calzaghe – the longest reigning super-middleweight champion in boxing history.

The Calzaghe family have contributed extraordinarily to boxing, including Connor’s late grandfather, Enzo who tragically passed away in 2018.

Enzo was the coach to his son, Joe throughout his illustrious career and this family wisdom has been passed down to Connor across the generations of these talented sportsmen.

Connor is particularly gifted at teaching youngsters and children the skill of boxing.

By the time Joe was the same age as Connor is now, he had won four schoolboy ABA titles, followed by three consecutive senior British ABA titles; and was 30-0 as a pro with 7 defences of the world title. Imagine trying to fill those boots!?

If Connor's gift is teaching youngsters to box, he's blessed and so are his students. Focus on that and don't be tempted into the public eye.

I'm pretty sure that he's not planning a debut at 27.

There was talk of him years ago turning pro. Did he have any amateur fights? Sounds like he’ll be better off sticking as a trainer
