It’s too much for how young he is…. Think he will struggle with weight through his career.

On talk sports…
Frank saying bakole isn’t a good enough opponent. Spence is suggesting Ruiz. Simon jordan is suggesting hrgovic
Not saying he couldn’t beat them but that is all insane and unrealistic. If you put him in with them it’s mismanagement.
You’re going to put a guy that has never had a competitive round let alone competitive fight find out if he is good enough in a world class fighter….
It also will make whatever they announce (which won’t be that) disappointing.
Franklin is the fight. But if I was gunna go above or bellow that levle would go below (but tough).

It's always difficult to match up coming heavies.
Even seemingly "soft" opponents can score a KO.
Two things we don't know about Moses are his stamina past 6 rounds and his chin, but I'm sure his team have a fair idea.

I'm sure if a match fit Moses Itauma pulled a fat Joseph Parker who wasn't in training out of the pub at the last minute and KO'd him early, you'd have the same energy and wouldn't be crying that Parker could've done better and the fight would've gone a different way if only Parker had been allowed to actually train.KiwiRider wrote: ↑27 May 2025, 14:15Just a couple of details:Cyclops wrote: ↑27 May 2025, 04:57 I see what they’re doing. I saw in a post fight interview with Moses that they’re hoping to have him out on the Wembley card in July, so it makes promotional sense to call out Bakole now. He’s fat and has essentially lost two on the spin: took the Parker fight when he wasn’t fit and then had to go through with the Ajagba fight, which he should’ve won, without being able to do a proper safe sparring camp due to being banjo’d by Parker.
Now if they make the Moses fight for July, he’ll be even less ready and won’t have had enough time to rest between fights. Him and Billy should say no, as Bakole would be vulnerable. But they’ve proven themselves to take fights when they’re not ready so long as they’re paid.
If they say no: well, they ducked Moses. He tried to get them in the ring.
That said, I like the fight. Great.
Parker stopped Bakole early, before fitness even came into it.
The weight difference was around 11 pounds between fighting Parker and doing "a full camp" which for a guy that size is insignificant.
The Parker stoppage was not part of a prolonged attack, it was just the third right hand to land.
The Ajagba fight was considered fairly even, on here at least, so it wasn't exactly expected that Bakole beat him.
Parker showed us Bakole's level

Yeah that’d be abysmal matchmaking, and what Frank is really saying there is Bakole is too good for Moses just now - in that he hits like a sledgehammer and Moses is still taking chances with his inexperience, when he goes in for the finishgregregegg wrote: ↑28 May 2025, 02:38 On talk sports…

There were a few heavy swings narrowly missing him on Saturday night and I was flinching at the thought of him getting an early shock in his career, because obviously with heavyweights you can’t mess around.
WBO chancers trying to tempt him in with a title shot, completely undeserved of course, but they wanna jump on the bandwagon with this young exciting slugger on their books and bring their tired old belt a bit of glamour.
Definitely a bad idea and Frank knows that so no problems there
Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
Why can't he just go down the British, then European title route before going after all of these names? I'd rather see him be built properly.
Who is the European champion at the moment?

Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
Labinot Xhoxhaj. I mentioned him earlier in the year hoping he'd be selected for Moses' next opponent. He'd struggle to last three minutes with Moses but it's worth picking up the belt.

Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
this would be a more gentle step up than Bakole. and bonus of having the British title. Bakole is still potentially a big risk but it'd be a nice test of Mo's chin.
Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
I don't think that's happening is it? It's not a fight that anyone actually wants to watch again, surely?
I've said it before, I would be more than happy to see Itauma fight Adelaye for his British title next. Adelaye has got a big mouth. I'm sure he could make the build-up to it interesting.
Then this Xhoxha lad for the European, maybe?
Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
I'd be in favour of that but Adeleye, who is no great shakes, is way better than the Euro champ.Cyclops wrote: ↑28 May 2025, 11:21I don't think that's happening is it? It's not a fight that anyone actually wants to watch again, surely?

Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
I just looked up Xhoxha and he's scheduled to fight this big undefeated lad Mourad Aliev nest month, who is the massive guy that got DQ'd against Frazier Clarke in the Olympics. Xhoxha is quite a little HW isn't he, at 6'. Aliev has got about 8" over him. That might leave us with a more appealing opponent if the big fella wins?Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑28 May 2025, 11:25I'd be in favour of that but Adeleye, who is no great shakes, is way better than the Euro champ.Cyclops wrote: ↑28 May 2025, 11:21I don't think that's happening is it? I'll have to watch some of their fights.
Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
Cant they just put Archie Sharp in with him, I'd pay to see that
Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
How about Tony Yoka or Makhmudov.
Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
In the 9 years that Parker has been a second tier pro, there has never been a fat Joseph Parker. That's the difference between guys who make it to the top (with the brief exception of Fury) and the guys who don't.Cyclops wrote: ↑28 May 2025, 04:34I'm sure if a match fit Moses Itauma pulled a fat Joseph Parker who wasn't in training out of the pub at the last minute and KO'd him early, you'd have the same energy and wouldn't be crying that Parker could've done better and the fight would've gone a different way if only Parker had been allowed to actually train.KiwiRider wrote: ↑27 May 2025, 14:15Just a couple of details:Cyclops wrote: ↑27 May 2025, 04:57 I see what they’re doing. He also doesn't drink, so you might try the gym before the pub

I’d happily buy the PPV for that
Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
Assuming Moses dispatches Whyte this Saturday I'd like to see Ituama v Richard Torrez jnr in a world title eliminator.
Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
I think the biggest test for Moses will be learning . Can he punch course he can . Can he box . Off course he can is he being brought along with the right fights off course he is Frank's a master at that . Has he got the goods to beat . DD . PARKER . KAYABEL and similar vein boxers we don't know yet . Time will tell For me the biggest question is how will he do.it .will he improve or just carry on at the same level . And I don't think he will.improve too much under Davidson . Personally I think he.ll carry on letting his natural .power . RING SMARTS and skills into the ring until he does.nt does what he have and shows at the moment mean he will be the best .just ask yourself this what would Kayabel . Dd or Parker have done to the same 12 opponents

Re: Will Moses Itauma be the best ever British heavyweight?
Getting drawn into the hype is part of the fun but I'm not getting on board the Moses train. He's fat, dopey and indifferent. Blowing out a liability like that Aussie in 1 when it took Hrgovic 12 doesn't make Moses special, it just shows how bad Hrgovic is.
Fully expect the old and always mediocre Whyte to lose quickly. The script is written and if Moses doesn't get him the referee will.
