Sugar Ray Robinson vs Archie Moore

I don't know much about the Light Heavyweight division history, so I'm using Archie Moore as the best Light Heavyweight ever in history, now correct me if i'm wrong and state a better light heavyweight. Well anyways lets say Ray Robinson would of survived 2 more rounds and had beaten Joey Maxim back in 1952. Who would of won between Ray Robinson and Archie Moore back then if that fight were made?

Moore was simply too big, powerful, skilled and talented. What was a grueling and almost losing effort on Maxim's part would not play out that way substituting Archie Moore. Robinson would not be showing up for the last round as with Maxim...but not for the same reasons.

..moore would have kayoed robinson, but the fight never would have taken place.....the sugar man's mother gave birth to no stupid children. actually, robinson had no intention of defending the light heavy crown if he had won. he wanted to win the title just for his legacy's sake...and either intented to go back to the middleweight division, or more likely to retire as undefeated champion of both divisions. of course, he did retire after the maxim fight, but the jacob's beach folks thought he was going to even if he had won.

The greatest fight there never was.
At LH Moore wins it. I don't think Archie would have made middleweight
around the time he won the LH title in 52. Maybe at the amateur heavy middle limit. What is it? 168, I believe. Archie would have a hell of a time making this weight. I like Ray here. Each would best the other in their own weight class. What would this bout generate in to-days dollars?Unreal.

..it was only by the tremendous will power (not an australian diet). ..which moore showed in so many aspects of his life...that he could even make the 175 limit when he was defending his title...

this is a fantasy match up only...there was no time in either one's career that a match would have been viable. archie put out a few feelers....the sugarman wisely ignored them.

when the match was being discussed...mostly by archie....one writer (fleischer maybe...not sure) said there was no call for a fight between "two old men trying not to get hurt."

It's hard to believe with the money & interest that would have been created it didn't happen, despite what anyone said about it. The 50's were a golden age for sport. This fight would have rivalled any in the history of boxing.
