Not sure if it’s changed, but ring belt needs to be defended against a top5 ring ranked opponent at least every 2 years.

Not sure when that Briedis fight was.

Guys like Fury and Adonis got stripped cus they never defended against ranked opponents.

Relaxxxx

-He fought briedis (ring number 1) 13 months ago…

- then the cruiser euro champ who gave Parker a decent fight at heavyweight.

- then an Olympic medalist late notice.

-this fight is kinda shit to be fair…

Just because he has been active and dominant it looks bad, but if the top people don’t want to fight him I’d rather him staying active than just waiting for a unification…

Interestingly has anyone beat the ring number 1 more recently than 13 months ago?

He should stop fannying about and move to heavy now. At 210 to 210 he'll be very exciting.

He'll ultimately move to Heavyweight though whether he's too small or not. There's more money in losing a big Heavyweight fight than there is in winning 4 Cruiserweight fights.

Waste of a training camp Jai's better than this fight , and who the hell will be buying it , proper boxing fans around the world are not silly enough and i doubt theres enough casuals gonna buy in Aust to make it a success ,

Do agree with others he's too small for heavyweight , but maybee a one of fight for retirement money , may be a good course of action

Weird Saudi thing, this ring ambassadors they keep coming up with

their latest Ambassador Keyshaw Davies just got his fight cancelled last night

what happens when one of their ambassadors fights for the Ring belt, and his opponent is an ambassador for boxing news?

I have no clue about squeo… but the fact that he is 191lb is pretty concerning.

If you are 191lb as a cruiser weight it means your a light heavyweight…. You didn’t need a restrictive diet didn’t need a water cut and still came in 9 lb light. 191 with a decent water cut makes 175 without even thinking about dieting down…

Jai is an elite fighter, and will probably walk into the ring at 216… vs a non elite fighter. 25lb advantage and being world class is pretty silly.

Teremoana Jnr off June 8 show in Australia and moved to June 14 in NYC

Heavyweight prospect Teremoana Jnr was supposed to be fighting on Sunday in Australia. Instead, he will have a different fight date, opponent and continent.

Teremoana, 7-0 (7 KOs), was originally scheduled to fight Jaipal Singh, 6-0 (4 KOs), on the June 8 undercard of Jai Opetaia-Claudio Squeo in Broadbeach, Australia.

But Singh has withdrawn from the bout, according to Matchroom Boxing, which co-promotes Teremoana. So the company has shifted Teremoana to its next big show – the June 14 date in New York City headlined by junior-welterweight titleholder Richardson Hitchins defending against George Kambosos Jnr.

Teremoana’s new opponent has not yet been announced.

Teremoana, a 27 year old from Australia, turned pro in late 2020 but has also kept one foot on the amateur side of the sport. In the 2024 Olympics he won one bout before losing to another pro-Olympian hybrid, Bakhodir Jalolov, who went on to win his second super-heavyweight gold medal.

The 6ft 6ins Teremoana has fought twice so far in 2025 – both first-round knockout wins, taking out the 11-1-1 Osasu Otobo in January and the 12-5 James Singh in March.
