Rough night for Yafai, the sort that can take a lot out of a 32 year old flyweight, hope he bounces back.

Pat brown got a good win and now appears to have a decent little step up 8 rounder booker in 2 weeks.

Is this guy popular in his own right? I know he is an olimpian is that it? or is this some Dave Allen’s mate fame.

2 week then around into an 8 rounder is a levle and backing and support most prospects would love but you rarely see.

Yeah, the Sunny Fight was effectively a gimmie and he hasn't fought anywhere near this level before.
No, I’m not having that. I got told I was stupid for saying Yafai is would be too strong
What do you mean?
Gal was the underdog in the Sunny fight, that’s what I meant, you can’t call that a gimme

Good skills & fundamentals, nice blokes but maybe that inner drive or toughness lacking at top level.
I sort of see your point but nobody could question his heart in there tonight.
Just didn't have enough to keep the other fella off .
I didn't mention heart at all or was even thinking that.

Watched it back this morning. Yafai got his arse kicked.

I stand by my earlier predictions

I think Keith is saying the fight turned out to be a gimme, due to Edwards not really wanting to be there.

It was a gimmie on the night. It doesn't matter if he was the favourite or not.

I get you now, and I do half agree.

But he didn’t know that before the fight and didn’t take a gimme fight.

Superb performance from Rodriguez, beat Yafai all ends up. Galal appeared to be on borrowed time by the 7th round and did well to hear the final bell.

Pat Brown starting to look a bit special, the acid tests will reveal all.

Prat of year award goes to Baluta

Prancing around the ring at the final bell after being completely outskilled McGrail

Shame on judge Bob Williams for somehow managing to score the fight a draw :brick:

I’m starting to think the ams and the pros might be very very different…

His tank and heart and chin cannot be questioned, but Yafai has to reconsider his tactics I think.

Cracking British title fight between Walker and Taylor, all action from the bell, Walker aggressive as ever, walking forward, no regard for defence, Taylor didn't have any issues finding him but he couldn't keep him off, tank and pea shooter, still I had it all even after 6, Walker looked the boss and Taylor looked a bloody mess but he was landing some nice shots, his uppercuts worked for him, almost a bolo punch but caught Walker time and again with it, it was getting harder and harder for Taylor to keep Walker off and he seemed to unravel in the 7th, stopped throwing as Walker come on strong before nailing him with a monster left hook , no way was he getting up, terrific scrap

I agree, but my point is. before last night he hasn't shared a ring with a guy fighting at world class.

Caught this from the halfway point last night, just to watch a bit of boxing. The only way it could've been more one sided is if Yafai was stopped.

McCracken was ready with the towel. I think he should've thrown it in. I get seeing the final bell is good for a fighter's confidence, but there's also taking an unnecessary shellacking. Certainly, I don't think he needed that last round.

Rodriguez gave Yafai a savage beating, I had it 117-110 but a whitewash wouldn't have been the worst card I've seen, Yafai showed immense heart, a good chin and bravery but he took a trimming in there, Rodriguez was immovable and just kept punching, swinging from the rafters from round 1 and the pace never halted, incredible that Yafai went the distance because he was hurt constantly, how it took until the 12th for Rodriguez to knock him down I'll never know, 4 punch combination finally dropped Yafai but again showed some balls to make it to the end, Rodriguez is pure Mexican, not always pretty but just relentless, battered and bullied Yafai all night, wouldn't be denied, incredible engine and will to win, brutal fight but entertaining as hell

He kept pushing Rodriguez in the chest. He didn't like the shellacking he was witnessing
