Shell's a very savvy chap, between him and Wilder, they have to realise this is his last run.

Kansas prospect Marco Romero added to Deontay Wilder-Tyrrell Herndon bill
Kansas prospect Marco “El Tiburon” Romero returns on Friday just two weeks after his last bout.
Romero is now 8-0 (7 KOs), and is headed to Wichita where he will box on the card topped by former WBC champion Deontay Wilder, who meets Tyrrell Herndon in a heavyweight 10-rounder.
The card is being promoted by Global Combat Collective and Romero is due to face another unbeaten fighter over six rounds in Hawaii’s Andre Amaro, who has scored stoppages in his two pro fights to date.
The bill takes place at the Charles Koch Arena and is being distributed by BLK Prime.
The fight marks Romero’s fourth outing of the year. On June 14, in Portland, Maine, he stopped Nafys Anas Garner in two rounds.
“Any opportunity I have to step in the ring, especially in Kansas, I’m going to give the audience my best,” Romero said. “It’s important for me to put on a show to gain new fans in Kansas and from around the world. Anybody who wants to get on the ‘El Tiburon’ train is welcome.”
Romero’s manager and trainer, John Brown, said: “Marco is excited to be on this card that is so close to his home, and he is more than ready to notch his ninth victory. He’s inching his way to Kansas City, where he will have the opportunity to display his talents in front of a home crown on September 6 in his hometown of Olathe, Kansas.”

Seen a few posts about it, apparently Wilder posted a photo of his team and Scott not in the photo, could be fake news though. Saying that I listened to GAD on a podcast today and he mentioned Scott not being around Wilder lately.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 17:09I don’t think he has. According to the Birmingham Independent Scott and Wilder parted ways mutually and remain dear friends.Controversial wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:08Seen a few posts about it, apparently Wilder posted a photo of his team and Scott not in the photo, could be fake news though. Wilder weighed 225.4 pounds
Herndon scaled a slighter 218.2 pounds

I actually like Wilder as an entertaining (for the most part) fighter and also a big personality at press conferences, etc.
But I tried listening to Tris Dixon's recent podcast with him and I couldn't take more than about a minute of him talking.

As Bunce wrote in this week's Boxing News, Wilder will be remembered fondly in history for his trilogy with Fury. Neither have been the same since.

That rematch clause for the third fight has been such a massive factor in Fury's career.mickey1975 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025, 06:59 As Bunce wrote in this week's Boxing News, Wilder will be remembered fondly in history for his trilogy with Fury. Neither have been the same since.

Malik Scott is gone. I wonder how long ago.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyrell Herndon | BLK Prime - 27 June 2025
He knocked Whyte out , stopped Chisora, had an admittedly mediocre outing against Ngannou but won and two competitive fights with one of the greatest fighters of all time. Not sure what you want here.mickey1975 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025, 06:59 As Bunce wrote in this week's Boxing News, Wilder will be remembered fondly in history for his trilogy with Fury. Great fights, while Fury was still, and still is a top fighter, he wasn't the same again, Wilder was finished, terrible beatingsmickey1975 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025, 06:59 As Bunce wrote in this week's Boxing News, Wilder will be remembered fondly in history for his trilogy with Fury. wonder what nico hernandez's issue has been
olympic bronze medalist, looked pretty good. yet on and off career, only 11 fights since the 2016 olympics. still undefeated but gone nowhere

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyrell Herndon | BLK Prime - 27 June 2025
There might be three good fights on the card, or at least three not already determined fights.
It's average for a regular card, but PPV it is not.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyrell Herndon | BLK Prime - 27 June 2025
Jeff Page jr. got stopped by Beterbiev 11 years ago.
Sort of gives an idea the type of guy on the card I think.

That tells you basically nothing…
so a guy on the card got stopped by the 29 year old version of an all time great former undisputed who is considered one of the p4p top punches of the era (well ever I guess).
Now the same guy you’re talking about… he hasn’t fought in 8 years…. That’s the bit that gives you an idea of the types of guys on this card…
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyrell Herndon | BLK Prime - 27 June 2025
That was the point ffs. I wasn't saying he wasn't important because Beterbiev specifically stopped him, I meant that was as close as he got to being a relevant fighter and it was 11 years ago.
