Elock vs Bendall?
Elock vs Bendall?
I thought Tom Podmore spoke to team Elcock and say he was fighting Lee Blundell next..... According to the schedule page Wayne is now fighting Steve Bendall in November for the English title.
Anyone know which one is it?

Stu,
Wayne was due to fight Lee Blundell when Andy Halder pulled out (at the ICC on September 8th). Then Lee pulled out because he was 13 stone. Eventually Vincent Baldassara fought Wayne.
So Ken (Purchase, promoter) was going to put Elcock in with Blundell in October as another warm-up for Bendall but Wayne was cut against Vinnie and that idea was scrapped.
Bendall was always the plan for December as Wayne is mandatory for the English title.
It will take place at the Aston Villa Leisure Centre and the undercard will include Cello Renda, Leigh Hallett, D Mitchell, Max Maxwell and the debut of Wolverhampton heavyweight Alex 'The Bull' Ibbs.

Do you know if Elcock is happy with the situation (i.e. he didn't the warm up he wanted).

Wayne was obviously annoyed that people kept dropping out but at the same time he knew he had to be professional about the situation and get on with the job in hand. He really wanted to knock out Halder, though, as he had been mouthing off on BBN and in the Midlands press.stujones wrote:Got you now, sorry for dragging you into it.Podmore_Birmingham wrote:Stu,

He added that Baldassara gave him a tougher fight than Halder or Walker would have done and he said at least he fought someone.
Wayne is really looking forward to fighting Bendall and really wants to put on a show.
Nickd - Wayne walks around at 164/165 so he probably could make it at a push but he doesnt want to strain his body and feels he is fighting well enough at middle to stay there.

I think Wayne will win in four. Bendall has never been able to hold too good a shot and has been dropped by much lesser men than Elcock.
Tom Podmore.
How do you think Elcock does against Williams or Eastman?.
imo they both stop him.
