I mean we’ll probably get some decent Ring magazine and Riyadh season cards
The November card is actually really good.
Matchroom and Queensberry will continue to probably put on the odd PPV’s.

Hmm . I was debating if to sign up to DAZN for the Usyk fight, long term if it means less PPVs it could sway it for me.

How much is sub now? In UK?
As long as they don’t increase that.. it’s all good.
They do need to try getting other sports too.

Monthly Saver (12-month deal): £14.99 per month
Monthly Flexible pass (cancel any time): £24.99 per month
£120 up front only a tenner a month but you have to pay it all in one go, assuming they don’t raise these more !

Re: No More PPV’s!
Well they are listening, and probably looking at the PPV buys as well.
I think the Itauma Whyte fight is bloody cheeky as a PPV.
Maybe this move will get other promotors to look more deeply into preserving the sport instead of cashing in on it's slightly gangrenous corpse?

Makes good buisness sence does'nt it , rake in a few million subscribers who would normaly stream , and i'm one of them , no way do i buy ppv with the shite undercards and main events that should be undercard , so i stream them , however , if i got them for free on Dazn , netflix , or disney channel i'd buy that subscription rather than risk a dodgy stream .
But has'nt it been said before regards Dazn

Re: No More PPV’s!
They probably just got the sheeraz v berlanga ppv numbers and realised they are wasting their time. Two contenders is not ppv and it ends up decimating the audience.
Re: No More PPV’s!
It's still PPV, though, mate, just not a PPV behind a PPV. If they want my custom it needs to be free with ads. Which is still PPV as I am paying with my time.coneye wrote: ↑16 Jul 2025, 18:44 Makes good buisness sence does'nt it , rake in a few million subscribers who would normaly stream , and i'm one of them , no way do i buy ppv with the shite undercards and main events that should be undercard , so i stream them , however , if i got them for free on Dazn , netflix , or disney channel i'd buy that subscription rather than risk a dodgy stream .

I will pay cash for boxing tickets but not to watch it on a screen.
Re: No More PPV’s!
I'd rather pay a PPV every now and then on TNT than touch Dazn with a 10 ft barge pole.

Re: No More PPV’s!
The last 15 years, any old fight has been PPV.. they stack an undercard and put it on PPV. PPV’s that have been getting 200-300k buys.
Before that, it was literally ONLY BIG FIGHTS that were PPV and it showed because the buy rate was much higher.

You think Boxxer have already approached them?
They leave it any longer the bigger names will leave and join Hearn or Frank, already on DAZN.

TURKI ALALSHIKH ANNOUNCES RIYADH SEASON, THE RING SHOWS NO LONGER ON PPV — AVAILABLE TO DAZN SUBSCRIBERS
Turki Alalshikh made an announcement Wednesday that should encourage even the hardest-to-please boxing fans.
The head of Riyadh Season and owner of The Ring revealed through his X account that after meeting with Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN, they've decided that Riyadh Season and Ring cards will no longer be pay-per-view events. Subscribers of the global streaming service will be able to watch all Riyadh Season and Ring shows on DAZN without paying an additional fee, starting with "The Ring IV" on Nov. 22 at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
"Great meeting with my brother Shay, CEO of DAZN," Alalshikh wrote on X. "We have big vision to grow boxing and decide: No More Pay-Per-View. Starting with our @ringmagazine show in November, all Riyadh Season & The Ring events will be free to DAZN subscribers. The PPV model has damaged boxing, and we will no longer support it. We are with the fight fans."
There are two more DAZN PPV events on the schedule before this fan-friendly policy goes into effect in four months.
The first such show is scheduled for Saturday night, when Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois will square off in a heavyweight championship rematch. Usyk's Ring, WBA, WBC and WBO championships and Dubois' IBF belt will be at stake at Wembley Stadium in London.
The card headlined by Ukraine's Usyk and England's Dubois is neither a Riyadh Season nor Ring event. allegedly’s Queensberry Promotions is putting on that pay-per-view show, which costs $59.99 in the United States and £24.99 in the United Kingdom.
There is also a Riyadh Season PPV card scheduled for Aug. 16 at ANB Arena.
Emerging heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma will face veteran Dillian Whyte in an all-British main event. The price point for that show is $39.99 in the U.S. and £15.99 in the UK.
The Ring's first three shows since Alalshikh purchased the 103-year-old "Bible of Boxing" from Oscar De La Hoya — April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, May 2 at Times Square in New York and this past Saturday night at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York — were all PPV events in the U.S. and UK.
DAZN drew intense criticism in 2022 because it went back on its pledge to eliminate boxing's PPV model when it entered the U.S. market in 2018. Moving away from PPV events again should strengthen its subscriber base in the U.S., where it will soon become the only network or streaming service to offer boxing content with any regularity, and the UK.
A 12-round bout between WBC light heavyweight champ David Benavidez and British contender Anthony Yarde will headline "The Ring IV" card Nov. 22. Former undisputed lightweight champ Devin Haney will challenge WBO welterweight titleholder Brian Norman Jr. in the 12-round co-feature.

Re: No More PPV’s!
If these subscription models are more affordable then surely they would get more subscribers. I’m sure most of us would happily pay a fiver a month but when it starts creeping to £15 a month it’s no wonder lots of people refuse to pay it or just can’t afford it.
Re: No More PPV’s!
Don't know about Boxxer really.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025, 03:52You think Boxxer have already approached them?

They seem to be on the verge of being adrift. DAZN are keen to work with everyone, and that is the best strategy.
Matchroom got them started, and now they are the big fish that are doing the Saudi season, The Ring events and of course the three biggest promotors as well as franchising out cards to Sky Box Office and a few others.
Definitely the big fish now.
I hate to see into the future when they are the monopoly and at what cost to us...
Re: No More PPV’s!
Should put Itauma v Whyte back on normal DAZN as that is never a PPV card. The WWE seems to manage ok with putting everything on Netflix so possibly it works with DAZN and boxing
Re: No More PPV’s!
It's hilarious to think Turki is selling this as being on the side of the fans.
He has tried to rinse everyone but the numbers were likely so bad he has had to stop. It also probably had a knock on effect with subscribers as they would be more likely to stop paying every month and instead focus on the ppvs.
This is a financial decision and nothing to do with the good of the sport or us.

I pay yearly and think DAZN is very good value for a boxing nerd like myself. There are other sports on there, but I don't really watch 'em. As well as the live events, I quite like the boxing channel showing some interesting stuff.

Re: No More PPV’s!
Yes if you pay a year upfront it’s a tenner a month so not too expensive, what annoys me is then paying another £25 to watch a PPV fight. So if this means less (or no) PPV events that’s a move in the right direction for me. I guess it depends if they up the monthly or yearly subscription which I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025, 06:41 I pay yearly and think DAZN is very good value for a boxing nerd like myself.
