WEIGHT CUT-RELATED HEALTH ISSUES SEE ANGEL FIERRO FORCED TO WITHDRAW FROM ISAAC CRUZ REMATCH
Angel Fierro has been forced to withdraw from Saturday's rematch with Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz, sources told The Ring.
The 140-pound battle of Mexican action fighters was scheduled for the Manny Pacquiao-Mario Barrios PPV undercard in Las Vegas. Cruz (27-3-1, 18 KOs) defeated Fierro in a firefight on February 1 via tight 10-round unanimous decision.
It was a result that begged for a return encounter, but that will now have to wait.
Fierro (23-3-2, 18 KOs) is headed to a hospital for observation after he encountered health issues during his weight cut, sources said.
It's unclear at time of publication if Cruz will remain on the card against a replacement opponent.
Cruz is a former WBA junior welterweight champion. The 27-year-old lost his title via 12-round split decision to now-former titleholder Jose Valenzuela in August.
Fierro, 26, has never challenged for a world title.

I've got a horrible feeling the fix is in to set up a mayweather rematch

As harsh as it sounds id love to see Pacquiao sent to the Shadow realm and as hurt as it's possibly to be without lasting damage just to humiliate Mauricio Sulaiman and PBC

That's kinda my thought as well. I won't be watching it live, but I'm sure if I was, I'd end up cheering for the underdog.handsofstone wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025, 05:27 As harsh as it sounds id love to see Pacquiao sent to the Shadow realm and as hurt as it's possibly to be without lasting damage just to humiliate Mauricio Sulaiman and PBC
handsofstone, can you realistically see any way that Manny wins this?

If he went the distance then who knows Keef? I'm sure they'll be looking for anything to give Pacquiao a round, Barrios better no take any prisoners, he's been massively disrespected here, coming out first etc, no respect for the champkeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025, 05:45That's kinda my thought as well. I can't believe Barrios is ranked #16 by BoxRec, I'm not criticizing them, just can't remember a WBC champion being ranked so low. I don't think I've ever seen him fight, not even highlights, which says a lot.handsofstone wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025, 08:39If he went the distance then who knows Keef? Yeah it really speaks volumes about how mediocre of a fighter he is. The draw against Abel Ramos was definitely embarrassing.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025, 08:52I can't believe Barrios is ranked #16 by BoxRec, I'm not criticizing them, just can't remember a WBC champion being ranked so low. He's definitely beatable, and will undoubtedly lose his title either before this year is up or at the first opportunity someone gets next year, but even so I don't think Manny will be able to beat him.
Barrios will know this is his biggest chance to get a marquee win and he'll seize it. Just by being the guy that gave Manny his last loss. It probably opens up Barrios for at least 3 more well paying fights.
Manny's whole game as a Welterweight was built around his lightning fast hands, and quick combinations. That speed will undoubtedly be severely diminished. His stamina I figure will be severely diminished.
Overall I think we're gonna all wind up looking back on this fight as one we could've done without.

Yep, there must be a reason why Eddie and little Conor Benn are singling him out to give Conor a world title opportunity if the Eubank rematch falls through.gilgamesh wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025, 09:18Yeah it really speaks volumes about how mediocre of a fighter he is. What a truly sickening narrative that would be ..... Barrios deals with the ghost of Pacman and then loses to Benn who would use that formline to rate himself thenceforth in the same bracket as a prime Pacman

As soon as the final bell ring I said DRAW.
I didn't score it but it just felt like a draw.
Perfect time for Manny to walk away but he won't.

Amir Khan has mentioned it again.
He’s always waned the PAC fight.

Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Mario Barrios | PBC PPV - 19 July 2025
I had it 114-114 as well, some effort from Pacquiao, incredible although what was the testing here? Pacquiao had a good 1st, popping in and out, shades of his old self but Barrios picked him off with the jab for the next 4 rounds, couldn't miss with it, middle rounds when Barrios should be getting firmly in the driving seat it was Pacquiao who upped the tempe, was landing his southpaw left and putting combinations together, he seemed to be pulling ahead and en route to pulling off the miracle but Barrios edged the last 2 for me to scrape a draw
Bet that smug cocksucker Sulaiman was sucking his own cock afterwards

Never thought I would say that but what a legacy enhancing display. To do that after that absence is incredible
