Feel sorry for DD

Post by coneye »

Don't know i must be getting old and soft , but watching DD cop all the flck in the world on u tube , i can't help but feel sorry for him , i know its a bit silly after all he's made millions out of boxing or at least i hope he has , but i can see him losing his fortune has well ,, He's copping it for being a quitter , well he may be but its not in everyones makeup to fight to the death , and any longer he would off got battered even more , looking at the last video i seen i agree he did quit , BUT he was broken and fragile , just did'nt know what to do so he went hme .

Now the storys are out his dad having a big party at hme before the fight , even taking the entourage party to the show and demanding they be let in or he pulls daniel out , Fook if thats true why does fish eyes put up with that shit , not to mention Don Charles , , All suggesting thats why he was late , he's a kid he's surrounded by adults who are taking advantage of him , Warren , big fights big dollars ,, his trainer , he's doing the best for Don not Daniel , payday , then his father who really when you think about it should of made him go to school not a gym , would'nt mind betting the father has control of the money has well ,

Only time he looked comfortable in the whole scenario was when he done his ring walk with his little brother there looking up to him , , the more i look at this guy the more i just think he' is definetly at least a bit Autistic , theres just something don't seem right with him ,

Boxing wise he's not finished he's at the top of his game , he's just a massive monster of a kid who can punch , he's been in the gym all his life and knows the basics , very well with absolutly no boxing IQ he has got where he is through sheer size , strenght and punching ability , whats more i have no doubt they will stick him in with others who he's too big and hits too hard for , but facts are Kayabel , Fury and probably Parjker will all do the same to him because they have 2 things he does'nt have and never will , a bit of speed and a bit of IQ .

I dunno i just get the impresion he's not very bright and being manipulated left right and centre , I would love to see him make up with his sister and she get him to buy a nice house in scotland with a big lake , give him a fishing Rod and a couple of trail bikes and let him never have to worry about anything ,

Like i said suppose i'm just getting soft in my old age , i don't think a man child just doing has he's told and being in positions he's not capable of handling is healthy for him.

Seen an interview with Peter Fury , and could'nt help but draw comparasons between him Hughie , and the Dubois familly , in the ineterview he said Hughie is boxing because he wants too , still has believe in himself , and he's told Hughie if he does'nt believe he can do it , to quit and come work with him on projects , but boxing is entirly Hughies discison not his , stating he does'nt care if hughie fights again its up to Hughie

DD well i think he's doing has he's told , , a big man child being bossed about

Yeah, looked like an absolute shambles from what we’re hearing. I mean he was like a rabbit in the headlights as soon as those jabs started landing on his chin. It was like oh f*ck, here we go again. I guess it must’ve all been about money because I don’t understand why they went for a rematch here, once he works you out once, he’s definitely working you out the second time.

what the hell were they thinking? he didn’t seem to have any plan and the reason FW and co are not saying anything about the carry on with his dad before hand, is his dad is almost like a cult leader, from what we’re hearing, and everybody gets out of his way. What he says goes, which is why Don Charles was given an in. He does as he’s told.

A party in the afternoon of the fight -.absolutely bizarre. I’m guessing his eccentric dad thought it was a great idea, to instill confidence in the young lad

I got the impression Daniel was looking into the crowd and nodded during the last knockdown, which was to his dad who was telling him to stay down - then Don Charles throws in the towel, a day late and a dollar short.

Be interesting to see if DD gets all his purse (after all expenses) or will history repeat itself like with Hatton

If that's the true figure I'd like to think he would walk away with at least £20m, the article I read said he would lose half straight off in tax and NI.

I know Turki's been overspending on fights but I don't see any way that he paid these two a combined £150m as reported.

50 million seems a bit steep , but heh if he did good on him , hope he gets to spend and enjoy most of it , But i would think a man child like him with a very limited , vocabuarly , (probably spells better than me though ) anyway a man child with a very limited education will need some sort of guidance with his money , that guidence i doubt will be allowed , i don't know but would suspect is dad will guide it for him lets hope DD enjoys the fruits of his work

I think in this whole scenario the biggest black eye comes , to british boxing , forget wether Daniel lost or not , because after all who really expected him to win , lets have it right I know i myself said on here somewhere , who had he beat to get all the raps , 3 wins against past there use by or shot fighters , nothing, and no one ,to suggest he would beat a great fighter like Usyk and only a few who got caught in Franks hype felt he would win , but Frank is a master at conjuring up his fighters has the next best thing and generating hype so fair enough .

Move on to him quitting , well once again i said on here before the fight , he has done it before , and he will find it easy to do it again , fight to the death just is'nt in his make up , he's a killer when winning turns into a frightened boy when he gets hurt , he just does'nt know what to do , looks for his dad , he's a man child , a giant tough , hard hitting man child but whatever it is i see in him shows up when he's under pressure from 3 times now , but heh he should'nt be ridiculed he's in a position he's not mentaly equipped for . He just has not been brought up that way , he's a daddys boy .

Now regards what i said about another black eye for british boxing , Jeez , how ameteurish have some british scenarios been the last few years , . this shambles in the corner , Don being made to bend over and take one from the dad , then making excuses why he does it , Sugar hill being virtually publicly insulted by John Fury , and putting up with , John over shouting in the corner , then you Have davidson and Saunders , with Saunders dad causing trouble at the fights , and Davidson over shouting Tibbs in the corner

Jeez these trainers need to get a grip , get some pride and just tell people to fook off , i never worked at the same level , but tell you what i told more than one dad and backslapper to fook off don't come near , , i trained a kid from walking in to being a 3 time national ameteur champ , and the first time his dad stuck his nose in he was told to take the boxer and his brother else where , when i had pro's not the same level but a couple main event fighters , and i picked them up , i got them there early , and i told anyone who should'nt be there to fook off out the room , no one and i mean no one would off dared come running to that corner to give advice , there were always 3 off us unless we were interstate then 2 off us , we were suppose for want of a better word minions compared to these massive fights but a damm site more profesional than these guys that are popping up all over ,

Whats more though even Frank does it he likes to run over and stick his nose in , its a trait becoming very prevelent in British boxing , what is it do they the trainers all need the money that bad , because if there that broke there willing to sell there souls the way they do , give it away and get a proper job

On the day i did'nt think so simply because he got hit with a peach of a punch , but when i seen a different angle seemed he got hit with a bomb got hurt but cleared up just sat there then got up and walked straight to his corner no wobbling did'nt seem too bad just walked over accepted the defeat , he got clobbered fair enough but made no attempt to carry on , perhaps he's wiser than most , because one things for sure he would off ended up right back on the canvas , its easy for others to critizize but there not taking the shots

Wow, even more surprising then. No way did Frank shell out that much because there's no way it made that much from tickets and PPV.

Attendance at 90k at £400 for average ticket (guess for a fight if this type at Wembley as I never looked) plus £25 times 1m for PPVs (I can't imagine it got close to 1m). That only gives you £61m. Those are rough numbers but even if it was higher on either, the numbers don't add up close to £150m which would need 1.5m PPV buys plus £1,250 per ticket on average.

He’s now been stopped three times with the last two arguably up for debate in how hurt he was, he seems to choose to stay down rather than wanting to get up . I have no idea how the relationship with his dad affects him, the fact he seems to need reassurance from his dad is a bit odd imo. I’m sure he will come back, no shame in losing the Usyk but he did seem to tire quick. The pre fight party was an odd thing as well, like so many successful fighters probably a load of hangers on.

I can't feel too bad for him. He'll get more chances. He's an entertaining slugger with lots of power.

He may hang around the Top 5 for a few more years, but I don't look for him to ever be a real Champion. Even if he picks up a belt again he'll lose it quickly because he'll be seen as an easy mark by a lot of the other guys in the division.

Power and Aggression he has.

His chin is somewhat questionable, and his stamina, and heart are noticeably lacking.

I believe that DD finds it really hard to think for himself.

He has had a strict, home-schooled upbringing overseen by a very, very strong character.

It appears he has been guided into boxing from a very young age.

Even if he didn't want to box, could he have avoided it?

I feel very sorry for him. As I said on another thread, I am not sure he that engaged with what is going on.

It feels like he is pushed out under the spotlight by others - and then left to fend for himself.

The amount of money he makes is irrelevant. I am not sure he is type of guy to really enjoy it.

As soon as he's a bit more busted he will be put in front of Itauma. That's been on the cards since the second they signed him. Lamb to the slaughter for the highest bidder. I feel sorry for DDD. No-one looking out for him.

Does seem high, but PPV is cheap in the UK, it's like 100 quid in other countries

Yeah pretty much my take on it too. I know people have questioned if he is autistic, I listened to a Don Charles interview and he said DD has the same routines in the gym and doesn't speak to people, just turns up and starts training. It's also been said he doesn't own a mobile phone. Of course none if this is a problem but maybe suggests some sort of social awkwardness and a level of extreme discipline from an early age that has made him like this. As you say I can imagine him having 100m in the bank and still living in his family home, eating the same food, doing the same routines daily and never deviating from it. Not that there's anything wrong with this if he's happy, hopefully he is and isn't living the dream his dad wanted to have for himself.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up broke in the future because it transpires that his father is robbing him blind. It's an almost certainty that he has zero control over his money.

It's becoming very clear why his sister has distanced herself from the father...

I hope he doesn't end up broke either.
It reminded me of the David Tua situation, where his coach Kevin Barry became a sort of mentor/father figure, then robbed him blind.
It is the worst outcome for boxers going through what they do, to earn millions, then end up broke.
