I have never watched a [insert name] fight
Fill in the blank.
Is there any boxer, that is well-known, past or present, that you have never watched? or never will?
I have never watched a Johnny Nelson fight.
He was still boxing when I got in to the sport. Just never watched any of his fights, and haven't watched any since, even highlights.
Funny, his nickname was 'The Entertainer'..

There aren't any highlights. Picture the most boring fight you've ever seen and times that by 10 for Nelson v DeleonRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025, 07:02 Fill in the blank.

The best bit of that fight was the final bell.

I saw Laila Ali fight once and Christy Martin once. other than those 2, i have never seen any women's boxing and never will.
Re: I have never watched a [insert name] fight
Your post reminded me that yes, I have seen a female fight, I have seen Christy Martin as well. I remember when they were pushing women's boxing a bit more in the late 90's, then kind of gave it up before starting again over the past 10 years or so.
So I guess I have seen a female fight, and that's not counting my ex-wife.

A lot of Johnny Nelson fights were entertaining. Just not at world levelRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025, 07:02 I have never watched a Johnny Nelson fight.

Johnny was ok until he was up against someone who terrified him. Then it became a clinch and wrestleathon with hardly a punch being thrown. A bit like Okolie but worse.Taansend wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025, 19:14A lot of Johnny Nelson fights were entertaining. This is tougher than I thought..:.
Re: I have never watched a [insert name] fight
I'd not seen Ryan Garner until last night
Re: I have never watched a [insert name] fight
I don't watch old fights from before I started watching boxing if that counts.
I watched Hagler Hearns and a "homemade directors cut" of the Rumble in the Jungle movie.
A mate said to watch up to the cut away to Norman Mailer and then stick the fight in - that was great.
Apart from that - just never; can't see the point.
So I've never seen anyone before Davy "Boy" McCauley vs Fidel "The Basher" Bassa or in the early 90s when I didn't have Sky.
I've missed Duran, Leonard, Robbie Regan...

To be fair, in the old days, it was only the big fights, without undercards on the TV.
Then sky got involved, more fights were shown.
Now with DAZN we get the whole card.
Boxing News was great as it was the only place for coverage of every fight.
Nowadays with extended coverage, you tube, and all the internet content, our library is immense

Re: I have never watched a [insert name] fight
There's a few of the current big names that I've never watched Live as they're fighting actually, but I usually eventually catch some highlights.
I don't bother to watch some of the stuff from the mid 1960's and earlier just because the footage isn't easy on the eyes, but I make exceptions for the biggest stars like Joe Louis or Marciano or people like that.
So it'd probably be some of the big names from that era that I haven't watched. Maybe a handful of guys in the color TV era, but I honestly can't think of any that I wouldn't have watched at least once.

Doesn’t fully apply but I completely missed the last few years of Kal Yafai’s career.
I’d seen a lot of his fights coming through on Sky in this country & then they moved to DAZN & I think most of his fights ended up in the middle of the night in America & it kind of passed me by.

One of them he was on a Too Rank card, it was to set up a fight against the guy headlining. Can’t remember his name. Fight never happened anyway.
and I watched his fight with Chocolatito.
