Why should they back it if they don't like the fight?
Oh that part is fine.
It's the fact that if they withdraw support aka money, that no matter the rules of who is mandatory don't matter.
It's the level of control that one voice has over the sport- that part unsettles me.
Imagine later down the track, a contender says something that is against the Saudi regime and then never gets a shot because if it. Have you read about all the poor schmucks Turki has put in prison that he didn't like? Do you want him to have the ability to cancel boxer's careers?
Good points, albeit I don't particularly like the Parker fight either.
Me either mate
I've been a strong supporter of Kabayel since he dismantled Zhang, and feel that would be the most interesting opponent for Uysk.

Even the Chisora fight did not warrant a rematch
Fury doesn't deserve another shot any more than AJ or DDD do

Fury should fight Dubois next, the winner to fight AJ and the winner of that might just get a shot at Usyk if he hasn't retired by then

If they don't want Parker, they won't want Kabayel.

What they want is an opponent with an existing name and following. And this is the problem - they just want to exploit names who have been created, if you like, by others. They don't want to build anything.

When they run out of existing big name fighters who got famous by boxing, they'll probably turn to youtubers.

Usyk ain't deciding in 30 days, no chance of that what-so-ever IMO. He'll drop the belt and Parker, who will be uprated to champion. Then maybe the WBO will call Hrg vs Itauma (assuming they both come through their scheduled fights) to decide the mandatory. If Fwank has his way (and it's the WBO, so why not), then it'll be Parker-Itauma after the Whyte fight. Usyk could well fight the winner of it all.

That's my view, could be wrong.

I wouldn't be against that. Parker vs Itauma/Hrgovic winner with Usyk facing the winner. As long as Usyk faces Kabayel in that time.

If Turki wants to put on Usyk vs Fury 3 or some other pantomime then it's a shambles already.

I would also think Parker wants to get some rounds in because It sums and Hrgovic aren't going to be facing each other until at least 4-6 months times

‘Hopeful of doing it before the end of the year’: David Higgins looks to secure Oleksandr Usyk for Joseph Parker

Oleksandr Usyk will have to decide on his next move after receiving an order to make a mandatory title defense against Joseph Parker.

Immediately following the news of undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk being ordered to make a mandatory defense of his WBO title against Joseph Parker, Parker’s promoter David Higgins spoke to Sky Sports and says they’re keeping their fingers crossed that Usyk will go forward with the fight rather than allow the belts to be fractured by looking elsewhere, causing him to be stripped.

“Joseph is hoping and praying that Usyk will want to defend the honour of undisputed champion, which not many people in recent times have achieved,” Higgins said. “We haven’t given up on Usyk fighting Joseph next,” he added. “A lot of people are suggesting that he won’t but for me that is a bit of a soft outcome if he doesn’t. We are hopeful of fighting Usyk and we are hopeful of doing it before the end of the year.”

Usyk is just recently coming off a knockout win over Daniel Dubois in a second successful bid at going undisputed at heavyweight. Of course, with all those belts there are a number of obligations, and being the top dog in the division means Usyk has a lot of options for other fights that could be much more lucrative than a Parker fight.

It’s probably too soon to know exactly how this will pan out, but it shouldn’t be long before we get a clearer picture as Usyk will either have to negotiate a Parker fight fairly soon otherwise he’ll likely be stripped of his WBO belt.

Don't know if anyone listens to PropaBoxing on YouTube. I find he's the best one to watch. This one is about, amongst others the Usyk v Parker fight.

Hope that means that it's Usyk vs Kabayel. Disappointing otherwise

He won't be fighting anyone for at least seven months, so he won't be announcing any time soon. Once last stadium fight next summer and like that... he's gone.

Turki doesn't want the fight.
So it's probably not going to happen.

What's the problem with Usyk v Parker?

Usyk isn't scared of Parker surely?

Seems to be because Usyk has said the next fight is his last and they don't feel like Parker is that exciting of an opponent to end on.

Because he wants the big money, exactly the same as the rest of them.

Parker not on Usyk’s level, it’s a nothing fight for Usyk.

Kabayel poses more of a threat but Usyk too classy for him.

Itauma maybe the best out the lot of them but to go in against Usyk without facing anyone top tier could be a disaster. I think it would play out like Mayweather/Canelo.

For me it’s Itauma and then done for Usyk he has nothing else to prove to anyone. If he retired tomorrow there is no one out there you could say he was ducking

On the eye test alone, Itauma has proven his worth but only against scrubs. Itauma could lose to Usyk and then lose to any top 15 opponent in the fight after so it would be awful as a last fight for his legacy. There is absolutely nothing he's done that proves he's better or more of a threat than Parker of Kabayel. Jalolov would be a more worthy opponent if we're choosing an unproven prospect. Kabayel and Parker have earned it the most. Wardley is the third most deserving and third most proven. Jalolov, Itauma, Sanchez, Torrez and Ajagba are all in that third tier who need to beat each other to be considere worthy.

Personally, I think Usyk has earned the right to fight whoever he likes in his farewell fight.

I think the problem is, he isn't getting to pick his last fight really. It's whoever Turki will force upon the fans because he'll be the one paying the most money for and promoting it. He can obviously say no to it but Turki would just up the fee until Jsyk says yes and he gets what he wants.

There are a lot of people saying that for a road warrior he seems very reluctant to face Fury in the UK.

It's a lot easier to be a road warrior when there is no work for you at home.

He has had British promoters put him on so he hasn't really been the away fighter.

While he will probably miss out on the Uysk payday, he has already earned well, and will get the vacant WBO, which won't be for chump change

The Fury fights would have been staged in the UK or at least one of them. But Saudi pays better. Wouldn’t say he’s reluctant. He’s beaten him twice clean.

Doesn’t the BBBofC sanction Saudi cards?
