It's hard to believe it's a goal of his when he isn't even walking toward that direction.

Is he the new Cammarelle? Just adding more amateur titles and not caring about the pros?

I really don't get what's going on. It's a bit like Zhelie Zhang did...Zhang eventually took his pro career seriously but by then he was too old.

Jalalov is 31 and still has time, but it seems like he doesn't have any urgency at all.

Top Rank did a great job of promoting Jared Anderson, because he is an American heavyweight.

He signed with the wrong promoter. He perhaps should signed with Kathy Duva, who would have done the best she could for him, as she did with Kovalev. He might have gone to Australia, where the fans strongly supported Kostya Tszyu, or to Canada, where fighters like Bute and Beterbiev became very popular.

Maybe the amateur achievements are enough.
Opportunities in the pro ranks take ages to come about, years even.
Look at how long Whyte waited, and now both Parker and Kayabel are kicking their heels. I think Jalalov is going to age out of contention before he is in contention sadly.

The Uzbek government pay top dollar for Olympic golds, shame they can’t kickstart a double gold medalists pro career with some help finding opponents.

Jalov really is the very bad end of the risk reward matrix.

And without any real fear of his opponents or motivation to get better he will likely regress.

There dosent seem to be an appetite for it but I would love a bunch of the old ams guys to fight in 10 round pro fights against each other…

Yoka, Ivan, guido, Jalov, hrgovic, Frazier Clarke, Joyce, madrenov… bracket up that tournament and I’d be keen as.

Saw him fight in 2022 for the IBHOF fight show and he's trash. If he has any common sense he's better off seeking more medals over a belt he can't compete for realistically.

The Big Uzbek is back in the Big Russia.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Bakhodir Jalolov weighed 248.5lbs for his eight round assignment in St. Petersburg, Russia against local opponent Vitaly Kudukhov, who weighed 223.8lbs. The 6’7” southpaw Jalolov, 15-0 (14 KOs), an Olympic gold medalist in Paris and Tokyo, will be making his first pro appearance since his unanimous decision win over Ihor Shevadzutskyi in April. Kudukhov, 7-3 (3 KOs), is six inches shorter and, at 36, five years older than Jalolov. He has lost three of his last four fights, though they were all against fighters with outstanding records.

In the main event, Russian heavyweight Sergey Kuzmin weighed 244.9lbs while his opponent was 252.8lbs. Kuzmin, 19-2 (14 KOs), is seeking his fifth straight win after back to back losses to Michael Hunter and Martin Bakole, while Khalidov, 10-0 (5 KOs), is looking for his first significant victory as a pro at age 37.


The fights will be part of an IBA Pro Boxing event at the KSK Arena.

He didn't look great. Got bullied by Kudakov, who is a brawler at best. Almost a Ross Purrity situation for a bit there!
