Emile Griffith vs. Gianfranco Rosi

Post by scorpio83 »

15 Rounds Super Welterweight Bout

Griffith would outbox Rosi behind his jabs and counterpunches to take a decision. What do you guys think and who do you got?

rosi is a funny one, he looks so awful to the eye but actually had some decent results and kept finding a way to win those ibf title fights

that said, he was nowhere near meel's level and would get outclassed pretty badly. and when rossi stepped up vs that highest level, he didnt usually just lose, but lost badly

Agree. Rosi had some really good wins against solid opposition (including his two title-winning fights) but could look awful - for instance his fights with an almost shot Curry and his KO loss to a young Honeyghan. He looked really good vs Aquino (scores should have been wider) and a killer vs Thomas, then a nobody the next fight vs Currry. He had several good wins after that against belt-holders and future and past belt-holders. But yeah, Griffith would paste him and win by UD

When I think of Rosi, I always think of that Curry fight. He looked so bad.

He did look bad, almost as good he looked in the previous fight against ex-belt holder Thomas. And he looked good against some good opponents after that. Weird performance. Either Curry was having a
last gasp of his old form or Rossi just had a really bad night
