CHRIS EUBANK VS. CONOR BENN II SET FOR NOV. 15 AT TOTTENHAM STADIUM

First it was off, then on, then off again. Now, the rematch between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn is officially back on.

The Ring has learned that a deal to see them run back their April 26 showdown was completed through Sela on Tuesday. They will have approximately three months to prepare for their sequel that will take place Nov. 15 at Tottenham Stadium in the United Kingdom.

Sela will take charge as the lead promoter, while the event will be sponsored by Ring Magazine and Riyadh Season.

Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) had been confident that he did more than enough to earn the victory in the first bout. However, judges Mark Bates, Lee Every, and Kieran McCann scored it identically for Eubank, 116-112. Like their fathers, they’ll do it again.

Chris Eubank Sr. proudly strutted around the ring following his ninth-round stoppage win over Nigel Benn on Nov. 18, 1990. Roughly three years later, they ran it back but the decision was a split draw.

Benn, who has campaigned mostly as a junior welterweight (140) and welterweight (147), met Eubank where he was most comfortable, despite never fighting as a middleweight (160).

Ultimately, Eubank (35-3, 25 KOs) was forced to respect Benn after 12 hard rounds and needed a trip to the local hospital.

Eubank admitted that Benn was far better than he was expecting and that making weight was difficult. Shedding the final one-half pound from his frame was impossible, which resulted in a fine of approximately $500,000.

It’s unclear if their rematch will once again take place at 160 pounds, but it’s believed that the weight terms will remain the same.

Chris Eubank Jr's rematch with Conor Benn is now set to take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on November 15.

The British rivals have 'completed the deal' for a second fight, according to The Ring Magazine, and will resume their rivalry after Eubank Jr claimed a thrilling points win at the same venue in April.

Negotiations between the duo had appeared to have fallen apart last month, with Benn insisting he would look at alternative options after a rematch in September could not be agreed, but the fight will now take place before the end of the year.

Eubank Jr failed to make the middleweight limit for the first fight, although he did make the rehydration limit on the following morning, and the weight terms for the return bout are yet to be confirmed.

The British Boxing Board of Control issued Eubank Jr with a £10,000 fine for misuse of social media after posting footage that suggested he was using a sauna to make weight.

Benn has admitted he needs to be "less emotional" when he shares the ring again with his British rival.

"I'm going to go in there and steam straight into him. Same as the first one, less emotional, shall we say," he told Sky Sports last month.

"Less heart, more brains, you know?

"I felt like in the fight, my demeanour was all win. I was up 30 seconds before the bell [to start each round]. I was up, ready to go.

"You look at my demeanour and look at his, who's deflated?

"For me, I'm excited to run it back, more educated. Experience gained, lessons learned, going to get in there and handle business."

Nelson: Benn will win the rematch

Sky Sports expert Johnny Nelson is backing Benn to gain revenge over Eubank Jr in their rematch.

"I don't think Eubank can improve on his performance," said Nelson. "At times in the fight, I thought his legs looked stiff, looked stationary, like he was stuck in quicksand.

"I do see improvement there for Conor and I do think the result will be the other way around in the next fight. He'll go the distance all over again but Conor now knows what he's capable of doing.

"That's a bold statement to make because I have ultimate respect for both fighters, to Chris and his dad, Conor and his dad, but you're saying what you see. If they fight again, I think Conor wins."

The on-again, off-again rematch between Chris Eubank Jnr and Conor Benn is apparently back in play.

A report from Ring Magazine revealed that the sequel is set for November 15. The pairing between England's two most notable second-generation boxers will return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London, where Eubank claimed a unanimous decision in their April 26 thriller.

Boxing Scene was unable to verify full details as this goes to publication. However, the Ring report was endorsed by Turki Alalshikh, the publication's owner and whose team will financially back the rematch as was the case in April. The working title for the event is 'The Ring: Unfinished Business.'

Eubank's win in their epic first meeting continued a family rivalry that dates back to the 1990s, when Chris Eubank Snr and Nigel Benn were central figures on the UK boxing scene. The Eubank family is now 2-0-1 in the three fights on the books, though it took for the April 26 show to reunite Snr and Jnr.

The two were not on the same page over the terms for the fight with the younger Benn, 23-1 (14 KOs), which was contested at 160lbs and carried a 10lbs maximum rehydration clause. Eubank Jnr wound up missing weight by 0.2lbs - normally not a huge deal, but he was so late to the weigh-in that he was not allotted any time to shed the extra poundage.

It resulted in a $500,000USD fine issued to Eubank Jnr, though he complied with the same-day weigh-in terms which allowed the fight to move forward.

An iconic moment came during the pre-fight ring walks, when Eubank Jnr was joined by his father, a former two-division titlist. Eubank Jnr then got the job done in the ring, as he won by scores of 116-112 on all three cards to deal the first career defeat to Benn.

Post-fight plans suggested the groundwork was already established for a second fight. The targeted dates were September 20 and September 27, depending on venue availability.

Benn and Matchroom Boxing were on board, regardless of date and location. However, Eubank, 35-3 (23 KOs) - who was hospitalized after the first fight - went silent when the news was announced at the time, nor did he put pen to paper in time to keep alive the working fight dates.

It was subsequently reported that neither Riyadh Season nor Sela would be involved in the rematch by that point. Somewhere along the way, all involved parties had a change of heart and agreed to work together to get this one on the books.

Ring will now go back-to-back with major boxing events. Eubank Jnr-Benn II (or Eubank-Benn IV, depending on the viewpoint) comes one week before the massive Ring IV show on November 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

While I will watch the fight, I suspect Benn will win leading to a 3rd and final fight.

Once the 3rd fight is done and a likely draw, Benn and Eubank will both come out and say they are in a relationship on a bed of 50 million hard earned cash. Benn will show a huge diamond on his finger portraying his love for his partner Eubank.

They will thank the public for furnishing their huge mansion 'Casa Benbank' and walk off into the sunset hand in hand.

I know I sound complete tinfoil hat wearer when I say this, but I think Eubank could have made weight and the whole sauna sleeping bag thing was an act. The 'story' in the build up was all about the weight and TalkSport talked about little else. That was the intrigue and I think it'll be the same story this time.

The fact that he missed weight by ounces, tells me he did struggle.

He weighed in over and then tried his best to get it down, which he did, but still 2 ounce over was it?and gave up $500k to Benn.

Don’t care how rich you are, no one wants to lose that amount of money.

The wetsuit was a blag, he just did that for theatrics.
