Taylor would've definitely been quicker and stronger than Basilio so he'd be doing damage to Carmen early on in the fight. It would all come down to whether or not Carmen is able to stand up to Jermain's biggest shots, and keep going. Considering the people that Basilio did stand up to, there's no reason to think he couldn't take it from Jermain.

I figure the first half of the fight belongs firmly to Taylor, but the nonstop aggressive pace that Basilio fights at would undoubtedly sap Taylor's stamina, and Taylor always showed stamina issues anyway even when fighting at a fairly measured pace.

I'd look for Basilio to come on stronger and stronger as the fight went on, and to take the 2nd half of the fight and a Unanimous Decision.

I doubt anyone gets stopped here.

So do I. It’s always good when the fight in question is broken down like that. Rather than just posting who wins.
Sometimes that’s all good if it’s obvious, but often, if it’s a good matchup, it’s interesting when it’s analyzed like that.
