Andre Ward willing to fight AJ
Andre Ward posted a video earlier saying he’d come out of retirement to fight AJ at Wembley if the money is right

I’ve heard it’s mooted for the undercard of Zach Parker vs Canelo at Pride Park.
Re: Andre Ward willing to fight AJ
It's not boxing, but these are the fights that generate money
Re: Andre Ward willing to fight AJ
I would like to hear the price for all retired boxer to get flat lined by Joshua in 2 rounds because that's what is going to happen and they know it. They know they won't win, they just want to get millions to get knocked out.

Re: Andre Ward willing to fight AJ
I thought Ward was older than 41, he was only 33 when he retired. I wonder if word around the gyms is that AJ is a busted flush and that’s why Ward would fancy his chances, he doesn’t want to fight anyone else.

I’m also willing to fight AJ if the money was right.
Re: Andre Ward willing to fight AJ
Lol, the genuine concern about someone like JP fighting AJ is that he would get killed.
Imagine if AJ hit JP like he did the MMA fighter

Yeah of course but I don't think Ward would want to fight AJ and lay down for the payday, Ward is undefeated and has a legacy, otherwise I'm sure he could go down the Jake Paul route and probably make more money.

Re: Andre Ward willing to fight AJ
By his own standards, AJ's never looked as fleshy as he has recently, and at this point he's obviously emotionally fragile over his losses. But he's also a one-time champ who won a classic tear up with Klitschko, and for a good few years in the 2010s was an absolute force.
So I don't see why he'd wanna diminish his remaining legacy unless he's desperate for the money. If he hammered a smaller guy he'd be a bully; if he lost - legit or not - it'd be tragic; and I don't think he has the skills for a convincing work.
I suspect the plan with Paul would be to let him land a couple, fake a bit of a wobble, and then 'finish' him to the body. AJ wins and Paul gets to say he gave a great account of himself. But there's no way they could sell it. AJ-Ward on the other hand might just get away with it.

Re: Andre Ward willing to fight AJ
Ward is out of his mind if he thinks he could fill Wembley fighting AJ. Perhaps the most dislikable and unpopular P4P contender in the past 10 years, he'd be lucky to fill the 02.
Joshua gets a lot of grief, but he did carry British boxing for a couple of years and was a proper star. Everyone falls off. Now he's looking like he's done, the vultures are circling.
History will be kind to him when he retires.

Yeah and then promptly retired. He wouldn't get a stoppage win punching AJ in the balls in a British ring.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑12 Aug 2025, 15:55 He said he wanted the AJ fight, in the interview after the Kovalev rematch.

Is Ward short of cash? Podcast not doing it for him?

I'm not sure AJ is going to fight again. I don't think for a second someone like Ward or Paul will really fight him. Fury I can see, but I think it would have happened by now if it was going to.

And the bigger the limelight, the harder it is to step out of itkeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025, 04:36By all accounts, he invested wisely and lives within his means. I think it's as simple as he thinks he can beat AJ.

He turned down a Canelo fight at least once since Turki got involved.Coco wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025, 05:53And the bigger the limelight, the harder it is to step out of itkeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025, 04:36By all accounts, he invested wisely and lives within his means. Being out of the spotlight is not so bad for the first couple of years, gets worse though, many feel a bit irrelevant, especially if they haven't found their niche.
