SKY not showing Corrales vs Casamayor or Morale vs Pacman!!!

Post by Boxing Addict »

E-mailed SKY to find out if they were going to show and got this response : - Thank you for your email about boxing on Sky Sports.

Unfortunately, there are no plans at present to show either of these matches on Sky Sports.
However, we do show Friday Fight Night every week continuing with Jamie Moore v Matthew Macklin which will be broadcast on Sky Sports 1 at 10pm.

I have written an e-mail requesting they show the two best fights, JUST do them a quick e-mail then the stupid director understand British fans want to see these fights. e-mail to [[email protected]]

I think if I remember correctly, we all did something similiar last year and SKY actually listened to our request and aired a delayed sunday morning broadcast!
c'mon fellas send off your emails, wont take you long to do!

I'm still confident on Morales vs Pacquiao 3 - I have the feeling it will be live.

I'm having doubts over Corrales vs Casamayor though.... problem is, there are fights on a friday around that time (I believe), so unless it is live I cannot see them scheduling it. Surely they would know by now if they have the live rights to the fight.

Don't forget Sentanta guys, use the Klitchsko vs Byrd angle (they showed it) saying stuff like "After such a great display, it would be nice to see how Klitchsko career progresses".

We all should write to SKY and request the biggest fights for this year.

Corrales Vs Casamayor 3 - they showed the first two fights, great fights
Same with Morales Vs Pacman 3

These are real scraps, I know SKY have been good recently but they must show these fights and remain consistent.

For me I'd rather watch these than Baldomir Vs Mayweather, which is an non-exciting one sided points win for Mayweather.

These fights are proper 50-50 pickem.

Sent my email but maybe they have already blown their budget on this years boxing. I mean they have had some great cards...worth a try though I guess.

Morales should of had a tune up to show he's not shot and to show that this could still be a good fight.

still, a lot of ppl buy SS for boxing, and it's not right if they just stop 2/3 way through the year

Yes, this is my argument. They don't show the premiership up until March and then stop do they?

I don't care if fights are shown delayed so long as I actually get to see them. I realise it's more difficult as they need to neogiate deals with individual promoters/networks to get rights to fights or to feeds, and each fight is priced individually often, but surely they can manage to get their act together to leave enough money to buy rights in September!

I got some 1990s copies of Boxing News recently. I looked in their TV schedule and there was shitloads of stuff on Sky. Almost EVERY DAY.

No way can they get away with not putting the best US fights on. We want to see world title fights. When Fwank had his fighters on Sky, we hot loads of appetising fights held back if they weren't significant to Harrison, Calzaghe & Hatton.

I'll give Sky credit, they have been delivering better since Fwank went. But they do go through these disconcerting 'hibernation periods'. These usually happen when there are no big glamorous fights. But what excuse is there for not showing Pac-Erik III & Corrales-Casamayor III?

Meanwhile, why do we get like ONE Japanese fight a year? & maybe ONE good European fight (last year's being Dzinziruk-Santos)? Why haven't we had ONE major cruiserweight fight since 2003, when there have been so many exciting fights happening? How about the heavyweights?

Why don't these bloody ppl give us a consistent service?

Sky are now always doing this.

Showing all the big fights when the football season is over and then stop showing boxing after september.

I'm sure they'll show the pacman fight, it's as TV friendly fight as you're ever gonna get and Sky always show the big Morales fights.

Tactics are to wait to purchase it nearer the date, as Arum gets more desparate to sell tv rights abroad as the date approaches, and Sky then pick it up at a better rate.

reply from sky on sunday

Thanks for your email about Sky Sports.

I was delighted to read of your enjoyment of the Barrera vs Juarez fight. It is always pleasing to learn that all of our efforts to provide a first class service are appreciated by our viewers.

Unfortunately, there are no plans at present to cover the fights that you mentioned, however, your interest in this has been noted and passed on to Sky Sports for their information.

Thanks for taking the time to contact Sky.

Kinds regards

if we're paying, they owe us quality ALL THE TIME

& when the barreras and the pacs etc aren't fighting, they should give us some of the action packed cruiserweight fights & the assorted fights that Don King stages at welter, junior middle, light heavy& heavy. I know they can't get all fights, but Sky Sports subscribers should get QUALITY & CONSISTENCY

this is no longer Warren Filtered Sky

so there's no excuses
