Dillian Whyte small record correction
On his record under the Povetkin loss, it says Whyte was down from a left uppercut prior to the stoppage. That wasn't what happened. He went down heavily from an uppercut, out cold, and never got up, the ko being so bad the ref waved it off without counting. He didn't go down prior to the stoppage, then get up and get stopped, the knockdown is what caused the stoppage there and then.
Re: Dillian Whyte small record correction
Is it because the ref stopped it without counting that it's worded like that? That he wasn't counted out for a KO, the ref stopped it following the uppercut.

Bizarrely, some people called it a lucky punch, despite Povetkin throwing it for his entire career.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025, 12:27 well, i mean he was down from a left uppercut prior to the stoppage

He did go down from an uppercut prior to the stoppage. About 2 seconds before.dawudboxer wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025, 10:44 On his record under the Povetkin loss, it says Whyte was down from a left uppercut prior to the stoppage.
Funnily enough, the first four rounds were some of the best of Dillians career

But it's only worded that way when a knockdown occurred then they got up and were stopped on their feet. That didn't happen here. It was night night from the uppercutTaansend wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025, 22:44He did go down from an uppercut prior to the stoppage. Povetkin knocking out Whyte in the match room garden was for me the best KO in a British ring. Smith writing off Povetkin just before the KO was satisfying and the cherry on top.
