Nikolai Valuev vs Lamon Brewster
Re: Nikolai Valuev vs Lamon Brewster
Valuev for a very, very brief window of time there was a formidable and reasonably tough guy. Awkward. Not quite as slow as you'd expect for such a behemoth.
Brewster would've been gamely coming forward trying to wear him out to the body, but probably more often wasting his energy on wild flails at the head that would miss more than they would land.
I like Valuev by UD or late TKO

Re: Nikolai Valuev vs Lamon Brewster
I strongly agreed with you for this matchup. Brewster would try to be relentless, but Valuev was not an ordinary giant as he would stick his hard long left jabs and landing combinations. In the later rounds, Brewster would be tired unlike his most of his fights as Valuev's size and power would be too much for Brewster to handle.gilgamesh wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025, 17:11 Valuev for a very, very brief window of time there was a formidable and reasonably tough guy. Either Valuev take a decision or stopping him late.

Brewster had a stretch of a few fights where he came into his own. His detached retina mid fight against liakovich ended his career
I think he beats valuev with his pressure

He fought quite a few times after the Liakhovich fight actually which I'm sure was not worth it since he's now blind in one eye.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025, 23:36 Brewster had a stretch of a few fights where he came into his own. His detached retina mid fight against liakovich ended his career

Re: Nikolai Valuev vs Lamon Brewster
I worded that poorly. Effectively ended his competitive career. They still rolled him out in germany for a payday against klitschkogilgamesh wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025, 00:19He fought quite a few times after the Liakhovich fight actually which I'm sure was not worth it since he's now blind in one eye.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025, 23:36 Brewster had a stretch of a few fights where he came into his own.
