Bobby Wells
Bobby Wells
Former Olympic medallist Bobby Wells has sadly passed away at the age of 64, according to a reliable source on X. Bobby won super-heavyweight bronze in the 1984 Olympics with a spectacular first-round knockout of a burly Tongan, making him the only member of the British team to come away with a medal. He had previously outscored giant Oxford man Everett McClean to win the ABA super-heavyweight title at Wembley, watched by his proud father Billy, the ABA heavyweight champion in 1968. Londoner Bobby also registered a win over Gary Mason in the amateur ranks.

Re: Bobby Wells
Yes, very sad news. Here is a shot of Bobby and the whole Olympic team. Between them they won 30 ABA titles, Olympic bronze and Olympic gold.

Ok without checking, I recognise Bobby Wells, Alex Dickson, John Lyon, Tony Wilson?, Brian Schumacher, Mickey Hughes… Rod Douglas (?), Pat Clinton.
Struggling with others
