JOSEPH PARKER-FABIO WARDLEY HEADLINES DAZN PPV SHOW OCT. 25 AT O2 ARENA IN LONDON

Joseph Parker hoped his impressive six-fight winning streak would lead to a shot at Oleksandr Usyk.

Rather than waiting on an opportunity to challenge the undisputed heavyweight champ, the WBO interim titleholder has embraced another difficult fight that could cost him a showdown with the unbeaten Ukrainian southpaw. DAZN and Queensberry Promotions announced Saturday that Parker will battle British knockout artist Fabio Wardley in a high-stakes DAZN Pay-Per-View main event Oct. 25 at O2 Arena in London.

Parker, 33, and Wardley, 30, will fight for Wardley’s WBA interim title, as well as Parker’s WBO belt.

New Zealand’s Parker (36-3, 24 KOs) has beaten former WBC champ Deontay Wilder, ex-WBO interim champ Zhilei Zhang and heavy-handed contender Martin Bakole in his past three fights. Those noteworthy wins re-established Parker as a top heavyweight after another Brit, Joe Joyce, knocked him out in the 11th round of their September 2022 bout at AO Arena in Manchester.

England’s Wardley (19-0-1, 18 KOs) produced a “Knockout of the Year” candidate in his last fight. He trailed Justis Huni on all three scorecards – 89-82, 89-82 and 88-83 – when he drilled the previously unbeaten Australian with a picturesque right hand that knocked Huni (12-1, 7 KOs) flat on his back and out in the 10th round June 7 at Portman Road, a soccer stadium in Wardley’s hometown of Ipswich.

Promoter allegedly, whose company represents Parker and Wardley, commended them for taking this type of risk when they could’ve sought easier fights while waiting for title shots.

“This will be a corker of a heavyweight clash and one which will shine a huge light on the division,” Warren said in a press release. “Fights like this one are as good as it get outside of the champion defending his belts and the sort we want to see happen.

“Neither Joe nor Fabio wanted to wait about and protect their positions, and credit to both of them for this. I believe this is a genuine even-money fight with a mesh of styles that I am sure will be eye-catching and highly crowd-pleasing.”

Tickets for the card headlined by Parker-Wardley can be purchased at axs.com starting Wednesday at noon BST.

True but it did feel like a big fight at the time. It certainly delivered.

I have to say Parker is the GOAT (probably an exageration) of just not being a pudendum and just trying to fight.

his resume looks a bit worse in hindsight, cause a lot of people have fallen off after he fought them... but I feel his resume is probably the deepest in the heavyweight game when it comes to people in there prime or near prime scaryness...

Takem, Ruiz, Hughie, AJ, Whyte, chisora, Joyce, wilder, Zhang, Bakole, now adding wardly.... Thats top stuff.

He looks in top form. I only have 2 fighters that I think would beat him currently.
Usyk and Agit. And I am not confident he couldn't pull them off either.

Just shows how low the quality for PPV is now. Will get even lower once the new add on channel starts. DAZN is just becoming a rip off

This would definitely have been PPV in the Sky/Dillian era.

No chance I'm paying extra for this.

Parker is a contender in old money and Wardley is a gutsy Commonwealth level operator.

Decent enough fight but a long way from top tier.

I’m not paying extra but I’ll watch this by various means. I think Wardley stops Parker early and surprises a lot of people.

I hope you're right, Sean. Parker seems like a lovely bloke but he's had a world title and fought for a unification already. Wardley is fun and I'd rather see the younger fighter keep building momentum.

Me too. I did tell everyone that Audley would knock Haye out though so a pinch of salt with any predictions I make!

Press Release

A classic heavyweight showdown will take place at The O2 Arena in London when BO interim champion Joseph Parker (pictured) will take on the challenge of Fabio Wardley in ‘All or Nothing’ on Saturday, October 25th, live worldwide on DAZN PPV. ‘All or Nothing’, promoted by Queensberry and co-promoted with Platform Sport, is a battle of two of the best heavyweights on the planet. New Zealander Parker (36-3, 24 KOs) was supposed to fight Daniel Dubois for the IBF title in February before ultimately facing and demolishing Martin Bakole in two rounds in a first defense of his interim title, which he took from Zhilei Zhang in 2024, having previously defeated Deontay Wilder. The notable victories capped a career resurgence for the former WBO world champion, who lost an interim title encounter against Joe Joyce in 2022, which followed a pair of wins over Derek Chisora. Now 33, Parker lost his WBO title to Anthony Joshua in March 2018 and was subsequently outpointed by Dillian Whyte four months later.

Wardley (19-0-1, 18 KOs) comes into this fight off the back of a sensational stoppage of Justis Huni in June at the home of his local football club, Ipswich Town. Wardley became British champion at the end of 2022 with a defeat of Nathan Gorman before making a successful defence against David Adeleye in Riyadh just under a year later. Wardley and Frazer Clarke then fought a Fight of the Year in March 2024, which resulted in a draw, before the 30-year-old emphatically downed his challenger in the Riyadh rematch, brutally felling the Olympian in the opening round.

Promoter Frank Warreeen added: “This will be a corker of a heavyweight clash and one which will shine a huge light on the division. Fights like this one are as good as it can get outside of the champion defending his belts and the sort we want to see happen.

“Neither Joe or Fabio wanted to wait about and protect their positions and credit to them both for this. I believe this is a genuine even-money fight with a mesh of styles that I am sure will be eye-catching and highly crowd-pleasing.

“We promised to keep firing up this heavyweight division and we intend to keep all the contenders jockeying for position until the time come to fight for the ultimate prize.

“It is wonderful to be back at The O2 Arena with ‘All or Nothing’. It will be a great show with some extremely competitive and meaningful fights on the undercard. This event will be the hottest ticket in town.”

“DAZN is the broadcast home of the heavyweights,” said Michael Ridout, DAZN EVP, Combat Sports & New Business. “On October 25th we’ll be delivering another world class clash between two of the top names in
the division.

“Joe is coming off 3 brilliant wins and is looking to cement his position at the top of the rankings whilst Fabio continues to prove all his doubters wrong and will want to leave the O2 with his unblemished record intact.

“All the drama will unfold on another special night live and exclusive, worldwide on DAZN.”

Credit to Wardley and Parker, they don't shy away from the tough assignments.
I think the Huni fight showed up Wardley's limitations, he was being completey outboxed before landing that one punch, although I was impressed with Huni. Despite the loss, he could still get up to a level of challenging for a title once the Usyk era is over.
It also showed Wardley's strengths though; a never give up attitude and one punch power that he carries into the later rounds.

I'd expect Parker to have the experience to outbox him, back him up and smother him when needed to take it on points.
